Upping the Ante on Ghosts in Skyrim

Post » Sat Oct 15, 2011 2:14 pm

I am certain this will not be in skyrim just as certain as I am that illusion will not be used by NPCs on player characters but I was wondering if anyone thinks it would be interesting for spirits in skyrim to temporarily possess either your character or your companion as a sort of frenzy. Maybe forcing you to attack your companion and only physical damage (regardless of the amount) will force the spirit out of the body? Might be an interesting mod but I have no knowledge as to how difficult it is to mod things. Aside from that are any of you guys hoping for a more terrifying experience in regards to spirits? After Amnesia I think I am desensitized a bit haha.

It's not Bethesda's style. The player always has control of the character. ALWAYS. A scripted take-over of one's character isn't an option for a Bethesda mechanic. They're smarter than that.

That would make a different element into fighting, just have to be careful with fighting ghosts if they could like possess your body and make you jump off a cliff, or just harm yourself, the idea is pretty cool, just that would be hard it seems to implement.

I agree with all of you. Even without a body possession I still stand by my opinion that I want the spirits to be scarier this time though.

Quests as simple as the Ghosts in the ship on the dock of Anvil, or the Forlorn Watchman quest had those ghost/spectre things which, at such close quarters within the ship, did scare me quite a bit as I rocketed every silver arrow I had toward them.

The Frost Wraiths should be pretty scary, they may not be spirits but they seem cool.

They come out of nowhere. Out of the "wind," and in numbers of more than one. I'll be VERY surprised the first time I'm jumped by them.

In one of the photographs they look cool, wonder if you will have to use Silver against them again or something?

That's a good question... Are the material, or spirits?
