Kill Animations / Finishing Moves POV

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 9:01 am

I'm hoping that the kill animations shown / finishing moves in the videos on the web are going into 3rd person view via the default settings. 3rd person POV killcams were the default option in the settings for FO:NV after all. However I'd prefer not to go into 3rd person every time I perform one of these maneuvers. Does anyone know if you can toggle that option, or is it going to be like Cannibal in Fallout where you are forced to go to 3rd person? If this hasn't been addressed by Beth then I guess it's a game of wait and see.

no /Sten

They are not optional, they switch between 1st and 3rd.

From what I interpret on the Demos. He does a execution in first person when he is in first person(Demo2 in the cave with the skeletons). The wolf, in demo 1, he performs a execution move in thrid person, but was already in first person...I would say he toggled to 3rd person during this event.

So my theory, if this is right would be. You can toggle. I would said that it doesn't self select the view "you" want to see, I would say that you can switch in "realtime" per se.

It would only make me feel more bad-ass if they weren't automatic, like if I needed to do a button combo to pull them off correctly (No not a QTE, more like a combo in a fighting game).

If there's a way to toggle off the third-person ones (like the options in New Vegas) then I will do so.

I want to play the game, not watch my character play it for me.

Fallouts executions were more of a cinematic sequence and could be completely shutdown from the options. I don't think it will be as dramatic as that. I think they are much more faster and less dramatic with the camera angles.

Pete has already confirmed that some of the moves are in 3rd person, others are in 1st person. However, not optional...

Wasn't there footage released showing finishing moves in 1st person as well? Pretty sure it was the E3 3 part demo, but I don't care enough to go check.

I'm just not a fan of forced perspective change. They did look cool, but I'd rather have the option of staying in first person. It's not a deal breaker or anything, just personal preference.

I would rather stay first person, but ultimately ecstatic they added the finishing moves in the first place. Kudos.
