DLC hopes and dreams

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:28 pm

ok, so the reason im posting this topic is because its obviously to late to give devs my thoughts on some in game options.
on the other hand i can give some future DLC ideas. :goodjob:
Personally I would like to throw out there that at some point, if they haven't already. is to add a hunter/gatherer UI. For each new area you discover it logs the what you can find/encounter, it being rare to high possibilities. Looking like a sweet leather bound journal with some classy sketches haha

yes? no?

it would also be cool to hear what your ideas might be.

I think people too commonly confuse DLC for mods. To me DLC implies paid for content created by Bethesda. Mods would be player made additions to Skyrim.

I actually like your idea very much but that is something that would fall into the mod category. I would not pay for a DLC just for that.

It has already been stated that Bethesda plans on "creating less but larger" DLC content for Skyrim, so I would expect nothing less than new areas, NPC's quest lines, items etc as part of every official DLC.

I think it's been confirmed that player-owned horses are in...

Skyrim looks like dangerous place. I think we should perhaps have something to protect our horse from danger. Should be beautiful, maybe even of handcrafted appearance. Perhaps something of steel and something more delicate. Elven, that would be nice.

Any ideas?

The Realm of the Damned

Rumors reach your ears of a crypt located in a remote part of Skyrim. The final resting place of the Eyes of Winterhold, a group of wizards who in the search for ultimate power stumbled across a grave secret. What untold riches could this tomb hold?

You go into the tomb, only to hear a voice guiding you to the far room. As you enter a powerful spell brings you to your knees. A portal opens, dragging you back 110 years in the past. You awake in a wine cellar, not shure were. There you find a old man waiting for you. He looks you over. Then tells you all he can remember, a fragmented story that he tasks you to put together.

But you must hurry, there is a terrible shadow following you only a few steps behind you.

I like to see in future DLC's something with interesting content and with the ability to innovate (and renew) the way how we see the game, even the gameplay. No more BS like horse armor or houses.

The ability to, on top of creating our own armor, be able to customize it's look and color as well. While I don't know if putting 'decals' on our armor would really fit in Skyrim (although I'm sure the Dev's could make it work, and I personally think it'd be awesome; making our own 'crest'?), I definitely want to be able to change the color of my armor and clothing, and be able to at least put markings of some kind, also of our own color choosing, on our armor or clothing.

I want BIG expansion packs like bloodmoon, tribunal and shivering isles, knights of the nine was a bit of a let down it was far too small.

I think that is there intentions, not as chaotic as Fallouts DLC's but more content wise such as Shivering Isle. Todd Howard mentioned this in the AUSgamers interview in a more accurate description then how I am presenting this. Might want to check it out.

Another idea I have is to go to Solsteim (the place from Bloodmoon) it is right next to Skyrim and it would be cool to see it 200 years after the BLoodmoon incidents and to see how built up Raven Rock got.

Well the terminology means pretty much the same. DLC just means downloadable content.. I mean.. technically lots of viruses are DLC :D haha.

But yeah.. people get super specific and "I want this in DLC" when DLC is more like an expansion..

Also cool mod idea, but I'd not want it to be focused on in DLC.
