Dual wielding questions

Should there be weapon specific bonuses when dual wielding, svck as wielding two short swords would give u faster attacks vesus using two long swords, maces and axes would have a higher chance of disarming or tripping your opponents in combat. What do you think?

How about you having two weapons ready at the same time?

Sounds like a bonus

This.

Also, if you get perks for different weapons and dual wield them, thats a pretty big bonus right there.

Yeah, if you have the perk for axes that cause extra "bleeding" damage and swords that does extra crit damage and dual wield both shouldn't you get both benefits?

I like it the way it is now, you already have a higher damage output with two of 'em, negating blocking but someone who utilizes that style should never run into too much trouble regarding defence, since the best defence is offence. Two weapons is more enough of a bonus, or else you risk shoe-horning people into that form whilst negating the plethora of other options, like doing a Gandalf, Sword + Staff.

You have two separate weapons you can attack with at the same time which gives you double the amount of poisons, enchants and perk effects in one strike, on top of that a dual power strike is likely going to be the most physically damaging power attack.

Stealth looks like it'll gain a lot from dual wielding inherently. Dagger in one hand for 15x damage on sneak attack then a real weapon in the other hand for the follow-up combat (as needed).

so if you were dual wielding daggers while sneaking around and got a double strike in that counted as a sneak attack, do u get x15 or x30 damage because used two daggers?

Guys, i know that this happens for a fact.

I went to Eurogamer a few weeks ago and played the game for 20 minutes. Originally i didn't make a topic about it because when i played, i just ran around crazy and didn't really learn anything knew about the game that i didn't before.

BUT I DID, learn one cool fact. When i dual wielded an axe and a sword, i didn't particularly see anything special in the way the attacks were. It was just one had slash, then the other, and repeat. And the kill animations were just generally stabbing them in the neck or the same as the single handed weapons.

However, when i equipped TWO DAGGERS of the same property (both your standard rusty daggers) i immediatly noticed a difference in the way that i was attacking them. It would be one hand doing a jab, then the other a slash, and then maybe a spin move before a double slash. And the kill animations were much cooler - you would either plunge BOTH daggers into their chest at once, or do a special animation where you stab one blade into them before spinning and stabbing them backwards with the other one.

It felt like even though 'dual wielding' is supposed to be enough of a different style of animation in fighting then single and double handed, that inside each animation there could be different types of attacks based on the weapons.

I have not heard anything about the different weapon combos having different kill animations which is really cool. wonder what a mace and war axe combo kill animation will look like?
