Airships

You seem to be missing what people keep saying, buddy, so I'll reiterate it: people don't know how to use Dwemer tech.

They can sometimes manipulate technology that is found intact (the Redguards were able to do this), but as for using Dwemer tech to create technology on par with what the Dwemer themselves made? No one does it, and no one wants to do it because of the fact that that knowledge destroyed the Dwemer.

In other words: it'll never happen in a TES game.

in Bloodmoon the did.

First thing that comes to mind when I think of dwemer airships is steampunk. I dont want that in my TES. From there the step to firearms is small and that is something I REALLY dont want!

No, in Bloodmoon they did not. I recommend not using false information as a source to prove a point. In Bloodmoon you perform one quest to find a downed airship, but it's not like the quest giver makes it work again. No dwemer technology has ever been recovered and sparked back up. There are centurions and the like that are still powered, but if it's decommissioned, it's down for good. No one on Tamriel knows how the dwemer machines functioned. Their technology was destroyed with their extinction.

I'm not a lore buff, but couldn't they eventually lear how to use such technology?

This. A lot of people are too afraid to mess with science because of what happened to he Dwemer. The Dwemer were blasphemers and even constructed their own god. They did nothing but spit in the eyes of the divine.
Or...they were doing what Shor wanted all along.

ThinkAnarchy, they could, but they don't. For one, most ruins tend to be completely stripped of anything worthwhile. Second, no know understand the dwemeri language, unless that person also knows Aldmeris, and even then, the translation is very poor. And lastly, dwemer studies is more of a hobby than research for most people in Tamriel. Hell, Dyviath Fyr doesn't even really know how it all works, and the guy has been alive since recorded history, let alone the dwemer being around. And that guy is one of the most knowledgeable and powerful Telvanni there is. If he hardly knows anything about dwemer tech, I don't think much of anyone else would be able to.

The thing is, it's not your TES.
If you knew anything about TES, you would knew that it fits lore perfectly and that there was an airship in Bloodmoon (sort of).
Also, steampunk fits TES perfectly and is already in, so your point is invalid.

I wouldn't mind a glider, but an airship would make the map small. I don't think this was built for airships... Also a glider would be great with all the mountains in it.

The only race that seems to know or even have a chance of figuring out Dwemer Tech is the Redguards. Even then it is limited. Magic and gods are too much of a crutch for them to start developing and really wanting to use Dwemer tech or similar things. Besides, who says Dwemer tech is not both magical and technological. Pretty sure it is both. Kagrenacs tools....

That makes it incredibly complicated and would make it VERY hard to understand and use or replicate. Imagine Sunder, Keening, and Wraithguard without the foreknowldege of how to use them in conjunction. How many Tamrielians have dies attempting to use Dwemer tech? Probably kind of a drawback for some people. Also the whole don't [censored] with the gods thing is a good angle as well lol.

Would be interesting if there was one featured in a DLC taking us to Akavir or Yokuda or something. Won't happen but would be cool....Sans Mods

The game engine limitation is stopping them from having movable structures, hence no boats, real time carriages, airship, trains, cars, rockets, cars on rockets, trains on rockets, cars on trains and cars on trains on rockets.
