Actually, it's not Nordic culture. It's Norse culture. The Nords from TES != us people from the Nordic countries ;)

I'm not exactly sure if there is a question there, OP... but I do believe that there will be at least some references to actual Nordic Culture in the game. The Nords are effectively our world's Norse, so I would actually think that quite a few, if not much of their Culture made it into the game.

Hope that answers you question?

They are NOT effectively our world's Nords. The only similarity is that we come from the north part of the world and used to have big vikings running around smashing stuff with axes. Don't expect anything from the actual Nordic culture to be represented in the game. The Nords in TES is a fantasy race and have their own culture.

I agree that the Nords are a fantasy race and are not real life norse..but it is pretty obvious that a lot of inspiration comes from norse culture.
Sovenguard(or what its called) is just the elder scrolls version of valhall, Todd even said so. Alduin (or world eater) is also like the norse serpent that in norse would bring about the end of the earth and eating away at it. There are several other examples of norse inspiration, but as you said..its still a different culture :toughninja:

Yes, that's a good explanation. I just didn't want to make the TS think that the game is based on real Nordic culture, since he asked if the game have something to do with Nordic culture. It really doesn't, but the Nords culture in the game is inspired by (not based on) some elements in the Nordic culture.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/seven-fights-aldudagga - A story about Dagon's Fights with the Dragon God of Time, including stories about how he was formed.
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/nords-lack-creation-myth - Why the Nords don't have a creation myth. Biggest difference being Time is a cycle.
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/shor-son-shor-full A Nordic Dawn Era myth, more or less similar to other Dawn Era myths, like the ones found in The Monomyth.
http://www.imperial-library.info/content/morrowind-varieties-faith-empire - A list of Gods found in Tamriel's cultures, including the Nordic gods.

Don't read everything at once, because then it ends up getting confusing.

Edit: Keep in mind Alduin is more like the Hindu Shiva than Norse gods.

Nords view time as a cycle, called "Kalpas". Whenever Alduin eats Mundus, it is recreated by Shor (Nordic aspect of Lorkhan).
