hardcoe role play

Post » Tue Oct 18, 2011 2:51 am

So while I was on /v/ last night I saw a thread that really changed my perspective on role playing Skyrim. This is what i'm going to do. *all credit goes to the anon who came up with the idea. thanks bro.*

Buy this journal from here http://www.barnesandnoble.com/p/home-gift-bombay-brown-leather-journal-with-tie-4x6/12601724?ean=9780830099177&itm=5 Or use whatever you have lying around. I just thought this one was cool. :P This is going to be your journal that you'll write in while in character.

Basically what i'm going to be doing is keeping my journal while in character. No using the in game map and turning my hud opacity to invisible so no compass. I'll use the cloth preorder map or draw my own with a blank piece of paper so I can make notes on it. Run some teabags over the paper and wrinkle it to give it an old worn look and let it dry. ;) Also using NPC directions.

I'm going to be writing out the date in time with the game. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Calendar

I'm going to do a lot of sketches and map drawing, such as drawing smaller maps of individual holds I visit, sketching animals, people and plants. All while completely in character.

Who's with me on this?

P.S. Again, all thanks goes to the anon who inspired me.

I'll probably role-play a dead is dead character at some point, but this does sound fun

You've inspired me. This will actually be a great help in going even deeper into my character.

17th Frost Fall

Ate sweet roll. Talked about mudcrabs. Slept.

I hope the international shipping is not too expensive.

Then neither does your character. It'll help with fleshing him/her out more. :)

sounds like an intresting way to go. though saddly my artistic skills are centered around the mechanicle as oposed to the biological.

i do something very similar when i play D&D and other pen and paper RPGs, i keep it all even after the cheracter has met his fate. it deffinately helps in my other writings since i am trying to write my oun book. i may do the same with Skyrim, we'll just have to wait and see

That actually sounds quite fun.. I'm not sure I'll do this. But I'll certainly give it serious consideration.

I'm pretty excited about this. It's really going to help get into character. :3

It's going to be a lot fun. One anon last night suggested using red ink to pin his journal because he was role playing a vampire. I thought that was cool.

Consider lack of penmanship and artistic skill a part of your character ladies and gents.

It will make them seem more real. :3

A fine idea. I'm definitely using the pre-order map as well. I gave the journal idea a once over in my head before, its something I may seriously consider doing.

You've really gotta try drawing out your own maps too. You can use them to write notes or draw smaller maps of Skyrim's individual holds.

Get into character and just have fun living in Skyrim! :)

I was on a certain chan last night perusing the vidya section and someone had this great idea for this. I got super excited and we sat around talking about all the crazy stuff we were going to do to immerse ourselves into the game. It was pretty chill until the kid's started waking up and trolling the second thread.
