i have no problems with FPS in fallout3, i have a retail GOTY edition..

it happens completely randomly but the game will freeze for 1-3 seconds very often, it happens in VATS, alot when choosing replys to people in conversations, this isn't a graphics card problem I don't think, it's really ruining my experience though... does anyone know that the problem might be? Help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

this doesn't happen in any other games.

i5 CPU
radeon HD 5970 HD DDR5
4GB DDR3 ram

When is the last time you defraged your hard drive? I was having problems during the winter and it turned out that my hard drive was super fragmented. After I defraged it, the game was like new again.

I never have, but I've only had this laptop for about 2 weeks. Do you think i should still defrag? If so - how? lol :hugs:
