Cosmology Thought

I have a really hard time wrapping my head around the Cosmological lore. I guess my head has been so ingrained with science that this classical form cosmology seems... illogical. I guess it's a little silly to complain about cosmology in a fantasy universe. But one of those strange thoughts hit me. Watching a Skyrim preview showing off user interface showed stars at different distances (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xwboyafbwc&feature=player_detailpage#t=279s). Instead of the lore model of stars being same distance apart from Nirn. This brought a thought of a different model.

Stars are still gateways into Atherius. But instead of piercing a "sphere" there ppiercings in space. Like oblivion gates. Some are closer and some are farther.
The moons Masser and Secunda isn't going transparent. There going darker. As there not reflecting the sun-hole's light, stars that set between the moons and Nirn would be more visible against them. Creating the illusion of transparency.

Or is this just me thinking too much into at meaningless details? Or That Bethesda cant keep track of It's Elder Scroll lore.
