The good thing about console games "Made for computer&#3

Post » Thu Oct 20, 2011 9:47 am

I have an old
Nvidia 9800 gt
amd 7750 dual core 2.7ghz cpu
2 gigs of cheap ram
win 98
System.

Anyone here want to try and guess how well my Computer will run Skyrim?
with Riva tuner and minimal quality options in my nvidia settings, I can run Oblivion pretty respecably. same with fallout 3.

but to be honest, I was very unimpressed with how well those games ran, in terms of load lag while moving.
You have to turn the settings down very decently in order to plya with high framerates.

I guess the good thing about "PC games" that are "basically console games" like this and rage... are that old hardware still holds up decently.

Any time the game looks "basically the same" on 360 and PC.. lets not pretend like it was created for PC, then eventually ported.
the game was created in order to run on the 360. so you cant call it a PC game.

Hopefully this means my dated system will run the game well.

Can anyone confirm in any ways how well the game might run on this level of a system?
that may just be the deciding factor in my purchase.

I can run crysis 2 "LOL" very very well even on medium high type settings.
but I couldnt run crysis 1 on anything above medium.

LOL@ console limitations keeping older computer hardware useable.

yeh but with a console you dont have to worry about if your console will run it because you already know it will.. which is why I rarely play stuff on pc because I have to upgrade it etc...

In all honesty I don't think anyone can tell you how well the game will run on your current setup. Once the game comes out start prowling forums and see what people say on varied systems. It will also come down to just how much more, if anything, is used on the engine for the PC version versus the console iterations.

Get win XP instead. Should be able to handle Skyrim @ 1280x720 Low-Medium settings = like the Xbox360.

I didn't know you could even run Oblivion or FO3 on windows 98, but at the moment nobody can really give an answer until the requirements are released (hopefully this week)

NOT Win 98 lolol. sorry, I use Win XP

Ive been building computers for along time ^ ^
I dont think crysis 2 (As console as it may be) would run on Win98 either lol.

Win XP is what i ment to say.

I used to reinstall windows every like 6 months, just for that buttery smoother performance edge. I used to have the serial to my windows memorized, my other tech friend would laugh and say omgWow when I would remember 90 percent of the serial.

Nvidia 9800GT was the best Nvidia card Fall 2007. It's newer and better than an Xbox360. It will run it @ 720p.

im actually reasonable sure that 2.7ghz dual core 9800 2gigram will run skyrim very decently. considering how well optimised it appears to be for 360.

actually, that being said.. im pretty sure its going to run pretty crummy for the first 6 months, untill we figure out great tweaks.

Oblivion looked great if you had a computer that could run it well, but once you turned down the graphics enough for older systems to run it.. it started looking bad, fast..

it actuallually looked very bad, for how baddly it ran, once you turned down the settings.

im hoping a new engine, optimized with the years of experiance in level craft takes care of that.

kind of like crysis 2.. they learned what they could and couldnt do well with the engine. Crysis 2 looked better in many little ways and ran way way better than crysis 1.
to a noob who just runs around looking at nice graphics. but it was a well done shift in graphcis for performance. i have to admit.

'98 was what they used way back in the stone age.
