New hands-on preview indicates pop-up issues..

I didn't notice a whole lot of pop-in while watching the demo so I don't think it's that big of an issue. Only one person previewing seemed to even notice at all, and I think this renovated engine for Skyrim is far better optimized. Still, it's the same console that Oblivion was released on. If you want to game on the XBox you're going to have to accept certain graphical nuances that will inevitably fall on dated hardware. Not saying that to be insulting, it's just reality.

I honestly doubt most console players would've even noticed if it hadn't been pointed out. We've all watched a lot of demo footage on the XBox and no one here brought it up, and people here will jump on anything. I think the people who are worried about this are overreacting.

I'm getting it on PC mate, I had Oblivion on PC and it suffered from these issues. It's not true that the PC version has a better LOD draw distance, the only way to improve it is with mods that ruin your FPS because of the way the engine has been designed.

I play these games for fun and they provide me with a whole lot of it. No features/mechanics bother me at all, or hamper my experience. I'll be completely satisfied on 11.11.11. :tes:

Same.

It's been known for a while now that the consoles will have problems. It's to be expected when the game is forced to run on obsolete hardware.

This. I play on the 360 and understand that this is a limitation of the hardware I have chosen.

It's not going to look as good on console as it does on PC. It not drawing as far or as efficiently as the PC isn't the game "not working."

This. Also, I think a lot of people are not taking into account that you will need a beast of a system to see any real difference between the PC and console versions AND have it run efficiently and not melt your comp after 40 minutes.

2 or 3 year old PCs (like mine) could probably make Skyrim look marginally better than consoles, but turn everything all the way up and I will prbably get chugging and maybe even some crashes. You can build a DECENT gaming PC for a lot less money than peoepl think, but to build a cutting edge one, that will last you for at least 3 or 4 years and still run the newest games at max settings, and run them well, you need to drop a couple grand at least. Afterwards it's not too exepensive to upgrade (RAM, Graphics Card ect.) if you're smart about it (at least untill you need a new CPU. Dual-Core users had this problem because Quad-Cores came out relatively soon afterwards) but the trick is getting together enough cash for that first plunge.

I suppose if you know how to put everything together yourself, and where to get the absolute best prices on everything you can also save so money but in the end, a solid gaming PC is more money than a console will ever be. Especially now. Sony charged 600 bucks for the PS3 when it first came out and they got creamed. They won't do that again if they learned anything. Sometimes the difference can't be much. If I have only 400 dollars, I can't magically come up with another 200 or 300 even if that WOULD make a decent gaming PC. I just don't have it. And weather PC gamers will ever admit it or not, them having such a capable, powerful computer is a privalge that few can enjoy, and they should not be holding that over anyone's head.
