Forced to become and Stay a Werewolf?

Hey

I was about to head out to do Bloodmoon on my Morrowind playthrough; but depending on how this works I may just go visit the land, and leave that questline to 'another hero'.

I have NO desire for my character to be stuck as a Werewolf, because I plan to carry them through to Oblivion and then Skyrim, where being a Werewolf is not possible.

I know there is this (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Rite_of_the_Wolf_Giver) Quest, but is this the only way to be cured? Because there is NO way my character would kill an innocent Nord woman. She would rather live with the curse. I know being driven half mad by the curse and going through with it might deepen her character, and thinking on it I MAY do so, but its highly unlikely.

The reason I ask is that I've never actually played through Bloodmoon and would like to know what i'm getting myself in for.

Edit: I've just becoe aware that you can take a Cure Disease or such in the first three days, but that would feel like cheating, since as far as my Nerevarine character knows she is immune to disease. She wouldn't believe she was infected until it was too late - and it would take her almost three days to walk from the Nord vllage to the Imperial settlement the way I roleplay.

The Werewolf disease/curse works the same way as the Vampire disease/curse. It's a Common Disease that "activates" in three days and turns you into the creatures in question. Just cure the disease with a potion or spell of Cure Common Disease when you get it, and you're free of the curse.

Heh, thanks, and I also just noticed...

Alternate Method

If you wish you can simply kill the witches and notice that they each carry a parchment Note from a Glenmoril Witch which advises you that an emergency scroll to cure lycanthropy has been hidden in a hollowed out icicle hanging from the roof of the Gloomy Cave. Levitate up to this scroll (sc_lycanthropycure) and use it in your inventory to cure yourself. The icicle will be disabled if you are doing Hircine's quests, but will be enabled again after.

My character will have no problem with this, especially not after wanting her to slay an innocent girl.

One of the best things about Morrowind, all the alternate ways to do things.

Now I just need to know if you can do the Skaal version of the MQ as a Werewolf, or if it locks you into Hircine's.

Hm, not being allowed to edit my own post. Fun. It turns out that reading deeper that pretty much all my questions are answered.

If you are a Werewolf the Skaal will not want you in their village. The Shaman will know you are infected even during the time that you are in your normal form. So if you are a Werewolf, you have to do Hircine's quest-line.

Edited to add: After posting I see that you found the information you were looking for so disregard this post. ;)

Yes, thank you. I'll have to be satisfied with using the Ring of Hircine to beat him.

Heh, I enjoyed your Archer's Tale, when I read some of it a time ago. I actually used it as a Guide to some of Julan's quests. Its thanks to you I actually found the Daedra cave. =P

Oh really? lol The first time I played through Julan's quest I spent four real time hours trying to find that cave. I reached the point when I was practically ready to just leave him there. ;)

Due to being out of town for a few weeks I had to take a break from working on The Archer's Tale, but now I'm able to work on the next section, which features the Reign of Fire mod.
