First of all, I'm sorry if the answer lies in this forum somewhere already; I have searched and not found it. I have seen other people ask about this on the internet, but haven't seen any responses that help.

I downloaded Oblivion yesterday on my Windows 7 laptop, and it seems to run wonderfully and smoothly but for one thing; I am unable to take objects from containers or corpses. Because of this I can't get very far into the game. Activating the container brings up the loot menu, but whatever I do there, I can't take the items. Both 'Take all' and clicking items individually close the loot menu without taking the item.

Can anyone help me figure out what's wrong? I hope it's not just because I'm running Windows 7

What language/keyboard are you using? Where is the game installed? Where did you download it from?
