How often do you use your racial skill?

Khajiit night eye is useful at night, not so much in caves or ruins. Silly that they limited it to 60 seconds though, especially since it can be deactivated at will.

I'm a Breton and I love it that I can finally play as an Atronach but without the drawbacks.

Argonian - Histskin is always saving my life, and water breathing is good fun.

I love my character's racial. As a RedGuard, Adrenaline Rush has improved vastly in usability from the last game.

With it, you can either charge or sprint away indefinitely, spam any power-attack like no other, and neglect other stamina boosters altogether.

Redguard is perfect for dual-wielding fighter characters, and I'm glad I chose him.

Although, I do find it a bit racist that the black character has the ability to sprint forever, lol.

Imperial, so only thing I use is the "Imperial Luck", which is passive so....yeah. Voice of the Emperor has got to be the most crap racial ability ever devised. Why on earth would I need to calm people nearby? Or I guess I should ask, why is calming nearby people considered important enough to make it a racial ability rather than a spell or a stone "blessing"? Imperials get shafted on race, yet again.

I also always forget to use my shouts.

Im on PC and I dont even know how to use the Bretons Dragonskin. I favorites it, but when I try to equip it, it doesn't work. Is there supposed to be a certain button for it on PC or something?

Well... not really. That's kind of like saying it's racist that the black character race has dark skin.
I can't say if it's genetic, cultural or environmental, but it's a simple fact that Kenyans and people from certain other African regions participate in and win marathons all the time.

yes but its blatant stereotyping, also not all black people are kenyans

Its not offensive, just funny imo,

at least its not as bad as oblivion
- intelligence and personality, etc
+ strenght etc

LOL

(edit) oblivion was slightly offensive

I try to use it when I get swarmed. (Ancestor's Wrath)

EDIT: Guess what, this game is fantasy! Redguard's are not of African decent, there is no Africa in Nirn. The Nords are not northern Europeans; there is no northern Europe in Nirn. The Imperials are not of Roman decent; there is no Rome in Nirn. Breton's are not the celtic Breton's; there is no western Europe in Nirn.

Also, in Oblivion Nords were even bigger bafoons than Redguards...guess Beth thinks all white people are stupid. :spotted owl:

Also, Africans being faster isn't stereotyping; its actually fact. Most Africans and people of African descent are born with larger thigh and butt muscles; resulting in a more natural running ability.

Dragonskin + Atronach stone = Immunity to magic.

I reassigned the power/shout button to C, the cast button from Oblivion. It's easier to use then Z.

I play as a Nord, and I only used it once or twice. I was completely surrounded by 4-5 mages once because I poorly scouted a room before attacking. On the verge of death, somehow I remembered to use it, and it actually saved me, scattering them all running in fear. Usually though... I always forget I have it. lol

My character is a Nord and I've used the Battle Cry a few times. Mostly if I get surrounded by melee enemies or if it starts to turn ugly...

EDIT: Haha the above post is pretty much the same as mine, that's awesome, we're awesome ;)

Orc.

I pop berserker rage everytime I meet a big baddie or a group of lesser baddies. Turns my squishy rogue into a tank!

Nord has the whatever ability that makes people flee.
That's just gonna make them harder to kill if they're just gonna run away from you.
I only used it once.

Oh wait a second! Thats right I have a Racial Ability!

In answer to OP (above is a bit exaggerated but honestly I don't even remember I have it most of the time but then I'm not using Magic Spells except Heal occasionally).

Yes, Z by default. Wondered that same thing first myself.

Never, I'm a stealthy Dunmer

I'd really prefer it if my racial ability involved summoning a ghost

I am a Breton. I knew I had Dragonskin, but I've never used it, thinking it would be similar to the somewhat useless Shield effect from Morrowind and Oblivion (I mean, it could be handy, but once a day, I just forgot to use it).

I am not sure if I am going to use it from now on much more often, but I guess that absorb magicka versus dragons can be quite interesting... Magicka resistance is always what got me more into picking Bretons as my favourite race. Mostly in MW, when I could run using the Boots of Blinding Speed at 50% resistance. :)

As for the shouts, I find it a lot of fun.

I've never used my Breton's racial ability, but I was under the impression that it just made spell damage recharge your magicka and didn't actually block any of it. I should probably test it out.

Though, on a side note, I think the racial abilities are not really balanced that well for Bretons, Imperials, Dunmers, and Nords in comparison to the other race's abilities with Altmer and Orsimer being the best.

Any power I can only use once a day is not worth hotkeying, and therefore, is something I will never use.

I tend to pick race on RP, but if I am going for stats, then only the passives would matter.

I'm an Imperial, and I love my racial but I always forget it.

But so far I haven't found much of a need for it. I mean if something is dead set on killing me, Voice of the Emperor doesn't really help then... at least in Oblivion it didn't. I have yet to use it once actually! I'll have to test it soon, but I haven't put in much more than 12 hours of gameplay. If I ever need to persuade someone I'll use it for sure.

Since I'm full of originality, a total non-conformist I decided Dovakiin was a Nord, I have no idea why Bethesda cast him as a Khajiit in the trailer but w/e that's their perogative.

I use battlecry whenever I'm in a total OH [censored] WTF moment, which is actually fairly often, maybe I'm just terrible at life but the difficulty on this game is whack, I can one shot almost everything but occasionally a bandit or mage will turn out to be a super backpedalling god of destruction and swiftly hand my ass to me.

In these moments I use my racial, pack up my balls and leave.

Works well in conjunction with Nightingale Subterfuge since it gives me 60 seconds of complete anarchy to attempt to get the [censored] out of there.

On my Imperial character I decided it was best to forget I had a racial at all since it svcked harder than a Dyson vacuum cleaner. However I was expecting this little caveat long before the leaked racials revealed just how crap Imperials were destined to be, since they've traditionally always svcked pretty hard and I figured the empire collapsing was due to yet another unesacary nerf.
