Fallout 3 intro is still the best for me

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 8:00 pm

Thought I post it here.

When I saw F3,I never thought it's intro will pretty much make me see through the whole game(I was not even planning on looking into Fallout).Seriously, the song and the setting is just too perfect for me lol.

Fallout NV not so much.I wish F4 is something similar but obviously captures the essence of F3.Nothing rock band or ultra super slow motion stuff, just simple.

I'm with you on this one, the intro to Fallout 3 just beats out all the rest of them in my opinion, including Fallout 1 and 2.

Fallout 3's intro is good but not the best IMO. New Vegas' intro wasn't to once again explain to people that the world ended, it was to tell us what has been happening in the West/Mojave area.

For me the best will still be Fallout's intro http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geLiEiAiQJA

The Fallout 3 intro remains my absolute favorite (although the Fallout 2 one was good simply for the hell yeah Enclave! factor).

The scene in the F3 intro that continues to send a shiver down my spine is the short moment when a school and a swingset is shown, with the faint background sound of children laughing being interspersed with some type of Greorgian Chant (I think its kyrie eleison but I can't be sure).

Absolutely haunting.

I watched them last night and liked Fallout 2's intro for the Enclave turning up, but Fallout 1's intro had the American soldier gunning down an unarmed prisoner, then doing a thumbs up at the camera. Perfect introduction to the Fallout world.

That great intro to Fallout 3 set the tone for the rest of the game perfectly and I was instantly hooked in.

I have to say I didn't like it. It looked like a lousy "obligatory war crime scene" which was made when the developers perhaps noticed "what the hell, the Enclave look like the good guys! we need to give them a half-assed genocide nazi plan and have them shoot random civilians!"
I do of course stand with anything the Enclave does, but the developers' hatred towards the faction is made very clear. The moment those troopers gunned down the innocent vault dwellers I could say "no matter what, those guys are going to die I want it or not".

I agree 100%. But I still like the intro simply for the fact the Enclave are shown in it.
