Need help roleplaying as an Enclave

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 1:23 pm

Ok just finished up my "last" full playthru of FONV and restarting FO3. Im using FWE and going the route of exEnclave citizen/soldier. The thing is i need help as far as how to roleplay as an exEnclave. I want it to where im following the core values but also something that im against in what they do. i knwo a bit about the Enclave but its spotty at best and any help will be much appreciated. =] Like skills to max, what to stay away from, how to deal with certain people and situations.

I'm assuming you don't have access to mods or a PC version correct?

Nevermind, I just read the part about you using FWE. Poor comprehension on my part. I don't think there is any quest mods for an ex-Enclave soldier specifically, but you may simply want to set yourself allied to the Enclave faction (unless you are really against them as an ex-soldier).

It depends on how much you disagreed with the Enclave's ideals. If your character simply left because he didn't like Eden/Autumn or *insert Enclave leader here* than he or she is likely to still hold true to the Enclave's values. But if you character simply flat out deserted because he came to hate the Enclave, then that is another matter.

Personally, if you want it to be a uniquely "Enclave" play through, I wouldn't do the main quest at all. Mainly because obviously your "Dad" isn't going to be James.

From there I'd suggest having a high intelligence, use primarily energy weapons (aka have energy weapons as a tag skill) and then perhaps have science as another tag skill.

In Fallout 3 I would have no idea. In Fallout New Vegas however it's easier to RP an Ex-Enclave. Depending on your run, I would say:

[*]Depending on the affiliation of your character, I would still say that helping the NCR or Brotherhood requires a tremendous effort because of what they did to the Enclave. I personally go out of my way to kill everything involved with both organisations but I'm a fanatic . Try to be more selfish in the wasteland, maybe keep to smaller settlements or even bunkers to remind you of home.

[*]If you playing an Ex-Soldier then go for Energy Weapons/Guns, Medicine and Repair. Combat, first-aid and weapon maintenance, makes sense for well trained soldiers no?

[*]If your roleplaying an ex-civie then go for Science, Medicine, Repair and Energy Weapons - rudimentary weapon training is required even by civies and they have energy pistols, so it makes sense that civies would know a bit about EWs of no other weapon types.

[*]Always have a fairly good intelligence but a slightly lowered charisma - nobody in the Enclave is really accustomed to life in the wasteland and dealing with the outsiders, they'll be obviously dis-trusting and have really lived in a militarised, regimented society. In short don't pick speech. Nor Barter either as the Enclave society didn't really allow for such concepts, being so controlled.

k preciate the responses, im guessing in my head my father James defected fromt he Enclave when my toon was young for his experiments being used as a genicide effort. My toon was left behind and was raised on Enclave values. im tryign to think of a reason why my toon would go against the Enclave to the exstint of siding with the BoS temporarly but still have the values of the Enclave such as their feeling towards mutants/ghouls/etc. For some reason my toon defected also whiel the Enclave was on the move towards the wasteland. His father before he left talked about heading towards that direction and basically looking for his father and warn him seeing how the Enclave have intel on James movement and knows that James is in thesame area whicvh they gonna be stationed. Now the toon is not a peaceloving gentleman like his father but his not a evil person. Just has done what needed done, no preference or qualms really what he has doen in the past, was just work. so i want that enclave mentality to come over but not as an evil way, yes hes gonna have certain preferences towards different types, not bc hes an a-hole but thats just how he was brought up and trained.

thanks for help so far, wouldlove more advice and suggestions.

ok was drinking and finally came up with a backstory. James used to be part of the Enclave and the toon was born into the Enclave but James was softie and couldnt stomach that his experiments was being used for genocide so he defected and moved to the watsteland years ago. Toon was brought up as Enclave as a soldier but took studies to be a scientist. Had a fallin out with management because thought the FEV idea was flawed because there wasnt any adidote. Raised his concerns to which was eventually courtmarshaled and was gonna be put to "a firing squad" . well the toon wasnt gonna have it and fought and killed his guards and fellow soldiers and escaped and headed towards the wasteland to find his father to see about working on an adidote. Hes Enclave at heart and stands for the core ideals, just feels like management is off, not the entire Enclave. Hes ruthless and has no qualms killing his exfellow soldiers bc it will be killed or kill. Feels he is superior to the citizens of the capital wasteland, but knows hes on his own so he has to make some sort of agreement with himself with the wastes.

So any help on that as what quests to stay away from and what types of citizens to not deal with? Hes got to have some sort of interaction with soem of the wastes. he wil get stuff done bc hes gotta get that moeny in somehow. So any advice or pointers will be greatly appreciated and also if backstory needs touching up, and again preciate any who hellps :icecream:

Well I have no ideas about mods, as I play on ps3.

A good faction to interact with would be paradise falls.

Unfortunately roleplaying in fo3 seems tough. In fonv on the other hand, very easy to rp as enclave.

On my previous play I rpged as enclave and allied with followers and bos. Yep bos.... because the enemy of my enemies is my friend. I only used Gannon and Veronica as followers. I killed everyone else.

Why not ED-E since he is an Enclave Eye-Bot

Well of course Ed-e. I was only referring to the humanoid companions. Ed-e is almost my favorite companion of all time.
