Fallout 2 Locations

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:57 am

im just wondering about what's happened to the locations in Fallout 2 and whether or not they joined the NCR
I know Redding has because of Hanlon's endings, and i guess Modoc and the ghost farm is, due to Jas Wilkins in Sloan (although what she says about it would be nice to know), and guessing from Stella's comments (from Honest Hearts) New Reno isn't part of the NCR (unless the NCR is more useless in New Reno than in New Vegas), but what about the others?

They all ended up becoming apart of NCR. There is still some debate about The Shi in San Francisco, but there is evidence that they also ended up becoming apart of the NCR.

There are people in New Vegas that are from the NCR, tthey came from locations in Fallout 2. Locations like San Francisco. NCR's goal was to expand and take over the areas in Fallout 2. New Vegas is 40 years later and since Fallout 2 so it's safe to say they control of them.

Klamath is said to be apart of NCR as stated by Klamath Bob. Klamath being one of the most northern most locations.
The Den is mentioned as being part of NCR
New Reno and Vault City were annexed by NCR
Colonel James Hsu was born in San Francisco
Navarro fell to NCR
Modoc is also taked about.

Emily Ortal, and she would be from New Arroyo (location not known) but they could just be calling it Arroyo now.

Still the Followers are in the Mojave because NCR is making it hard for them to do what they do within NCR. So yeah that is more evidence that NCR has expanded to take over all of California.

I'd guess New Reno is part of the NCR, but that the Bishop family still has some power over the city.

Edit: According to Wiki, the Wrights have control over the city, but Mr. Bishop (the child of the Chosen One) still has a strong position.

I'd assume the Shi were at least able to get autonomy out of the NCR, if not full independence.

That is what I hope for, for them to have autonomy. They are peaceful if Lo Pan wins. They clearly have the ability to defend themselves, their level of tech is greater then that of the BoS, maybe on level with the Enclave. They have a large well organized and trained population. NCR likes to make deals before they go in by force. Force is the very last option when gaining territory. The two sides talk it out. Shi peaceful and can defend themselves. NCR peaceful and would suffer alot of casualties taking San Francisco. NCR will not back down. So the two sides talk it out and, the Shi agree to be part of NCR all be it an autonomous part, becoming a state within NCR.

Well, i think the existence of James Hsu (who is probably from the Shi) means that the Shi are a part of the NCR-we just don't know how integrated they are

I agree

but i do think that they cannot be a part of the NCR, in the same way the Hub or Klamath is. if the Shi joined the NCR as a full part of it, they would share their technology with the rest of the NCR-the NCR would gain a supercomputer, lots of power armour and energy weapons? (i can't remember if they had those), and most importantly, the schematics to make more. so i think that they would join as an autonomous region, providing men to the NCR, but keeping their technology. i could see that as conditions when they join the NCR (and has absolutely nothing to do with the games developers not wanting to overload the game with power armour. again.)

Here are the ending sliders that have been confirmed as canon:

Arroyo
Spoiler

Arroyo re-settled using G.E.C.K.

“After the Enclave's destruction, the refugees of Arroyo and Vault 13 resettled, building a new community with the aid of the Garden of Eden Creation Kit. Finding themselves hundreds of miles from their Vault, the members of Vault 13 chose to join the villagers in establishing a new community, and their technical expertise, combined with the villagers survival skills, allowed the new settlement to grow and prosper. Two generations of the same bloodline were re-united, and their savior, the Chosen One, became Elder, presiding over the village in the years to ”
come.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon

Modoc
Spoiler

3. Modoc flourishes

“Relations between the Slags and residents of Modoc flourish. Between the two peoples, Modoc prospers and becomes a major farming community, ”
supplying all the outlying regions with food.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Vault City
Spoiler

4. VC joins the NCR

"In the years following the destruction of the Enclave, Vault City continued to stagnate, choking on its own isolationism. Its Vault 8 generator, which was never intended to support such a large population, prevented Vault City's necessary expansion. Eventually, the city was absorbed by NCR, which had spread steadily northwards ”
since its founding.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

New Reno
Spoiler

3. Bishop child

"Not long after the destruction of the Enclave, the Bishop Family of New Reno was blessed with a child. This child seemed to have little in common with the Bishops, preferring instead to spend his days exploring the wastes. When he turned thirteen, he seized control of the Bishop Family and led them to victory over the remaining New ”
Reno families. He died quietly in his sleep at the age of seventy-three, never having known his real father.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

-

7. Mordinos wane

"With their jet production halted with the discovery of a cure, the Mordino Family quickly lost ground in New Reno and were absorbed by the other families. Most became enforcers or slaves, and the name Mordino was soon ”
forgotten.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

-

Wrights transform New Reno into a civilized city

“Within a year of the Enclave's destruction, the Wright Family turned from criminal activity to legitimate pursuits. Several schools and churches were established in New Reno, along with a law enforcement body that crippled the influence of the families. Though New Reno lost much of its edge, the city obtained a certain solidity that appealed to newcomers. Many came to Reno, not to visit, but to live, and the population increased threefold. Today the test scores of New Reno high school graduates are greater than many Californian schools before the ”
War.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes the continued presence of the Wrights in New Reno as canon.

-

Richard Wright's murder
Murder solved

“Though the Wright Family never completely recovered from Richard's death, the knowledge that the killer had ”
been brought to justice eased their troubled sleep.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Myron
Spoiler

Myron dead and forgotten

“Myron died less than a year after the defeat of the Enclave, stabbed by a jet addict while drinking in the Den. His discovery of jet was quickly ”
forgotten, and now there is no one who remembers his name.”

This ending can be assumed to be canon.

Gecko
Spoiler

4. Gecko and Vault City form an alliance

"Optimizing Gecko's power plant became the first step in forging a spirit of cooperation between Gecko and Vault City. Gecko's increased power production became instrumental in helping Vault City's expansion. The harsh xenophobia of many of Vault City's leaders faded into obscurity while ghoul and human labored side-by-side to ”
create a center of learning and tolerance where once had stood only enmity and distrust.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Harold
Spoiler

Harold's tree grows larger

"You still hear mention of Harold from time to time. Apparently, the tree growing from his head has gotten larger, and if rumors are to be believed, fruit is growing from it. The seeds are said to be remarkably tough, and several ”
of them have taken root even in the most barren stretches of the wasteland.”

Fallout 3 establishes this ending as canon

Redding
Spoiler

Redding joins the NCR

"Several years after buying the Excavator Chip from the Chosen One, Marge LeBarge is able to purchase and control both the Morningstar and the newly opened Kokoweef mines. Marge is an easy choice for Mayor, and using her new political power, she makes Redding join the growing New California Republic in return for a seat ”
in the NCR's Hall of Congress.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Broken Hills
Spoiler

Uranium runs out, Broken Hills peacefully disperses

"With the destruction of the conspiracy to destroy the mutants, Broken Hills began to thrive. Then the uranium ran out. The city, having lost its sole reason for existing, slowly dispersed. The residents carried their riches with them, leaving the place a wind-swept, desolate ghost town. A few hold-outs remained, attempting to eke out a ”
pathetic existence, but eventually, they too, disappeared.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Marcus

refugees from the Master's army. You never heard from him again.”

Fallout: New Vegas establishes this ending as canon.

Vault 13
Spoiler

It hasn't been confirmed as canon yet but it's very probable they died out, especially since in the Fallout Bible they said that any talking animals in Fallout 2 died out after it ended.

Enclave
Spoiler

Richardson dead and forgotten

"The destruction of the Enclave erased all trace of President Richardson from history. Now the title of "President" is used simply a bogeyman used ”
to frighten children.”

Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas establish this ending as canon. However, the title of President is still used in the N.C.R.
