Loading crash with oxc000005 error

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 7:19 am

After playing over 26 hours (according to Steam!) my system started to crash with an addressing exception (0XC000005 error) when loading a saved game or starting a new one... :cryvaultboy: I spent a week searching on Internet until I found the solution on U-Tube!

I found out that the problem was caused by DirectX :swear: ... After downloading an older version of the "D3D9.DLL" now everything is fine and I can enjoy that terrific game again! :fallout:

This works for Fallout 3 as well!

The file can be found at:

and
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=3DYRVF6I

Just download it and place it into you Fallout main directory... No more crashes!! :tops:

when you say "post it in your main fallout directory", what did you mean exactly?

Thanks! Having tons of issues with loading the game myself (my one and only thread will testify)

Usually you put such files in the same directory as the main executable.

Put it in the following directory (or where the FalloutNV.exe is located)

\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas

Note: I do not testify that the D3D9.dll is valid or that it fixes any issues. That particular STOP errors is usually associated with defective RAM and/or device drivers. If the issue was fixed by an alternative version of a DirectX dll file then upgrading or reverting to a stable graphics device driver should fix the issue

Thanks for the feedback... didn't help me in my circumstance, but thanks anyway! (thread posted if interested in taking a look)
