The game will not load.

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 6:48 pm

I have the steam version of New Vegas (as opposed to the retail version, if that makes a difference) and it is up to date as of today.

I have all the DLC, including Gun Runner's Arsenal and Courier's Stash.

I can start a new game just fine, but when I try to load a game, be it from the autosave or the manual save, the game load forever and if you Crtl Alt Del to the task manager it's listed as "Not Responding"

Is there anyway to fix this?

No one can even make a WAG, since you chose not to include adequate information.

I only ever have just steam and the game .exe running while I play, rarely Internet explorer, only windows 7 necessary programs and Norton Anti-Virus running in background.

I'll find my Catalyst version later I'm in the middle of a TF2 game.

Has it ever worked (loading save files)?

Is Steam installed to the Program Files directory? If so, it is recommended to install outside of that directory due to access restrictions placed upon it.

Have you try going to the My Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves ... directory and clearing all the files and attempting a fresh save. A corrupted save could cause similar problems.

I'm having a similar issue to yours. I started playing the game yesterday and did about 5 hours. and now when i try to start the game the loading screen will take forever and i will eventually have to access the task manager to close it,

Any solution to this issue ?

Start a new game and load your save file, only sometimes it resets your challenges.
