NCR - 3 days to do what?

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 9:27 am

When you get the 3 day warning, do you have to go up one step in positive rep, or get to neutral rep? Is Villified to Merciful Thug enough to appease the Rangers?

Trust me, it's more fun to simply kill them off.

I guess they need three days to file the paperwork. I think you have to do an NCR quest and then she'll show up and be all like "Good thing you cleaned your act up." That's what happened to me this last time. I think you just have to do something to improve your reputation with them, I'm not sure it actually has to shift up a rank though.

I like to step on her bear. :gun:

They are still doing this for my characters, I'm vilified and yet I've only had her show up once with the warning and then never again

I believe its glitched as I've never even seen a hit squad and I believe once the quest just popped up failed all of a sudden. Anyway, unless you want to do some quests for them or get all the followers, its not such a big deal. Lock and load!

P.S. I give a little credit for the Rangers for warning the player. I like polite enemies, worthy opponents. Too bad they're lousy fighters though.

You're just lucky Game Mechanics favor the player. Were they not, the Rangers would just AMR you in the head from beyond perception range.

Like in the opening intro with the Fiend. Now that would be worth a  since thats how it would be done :)

Actually, it's easier than you'd think. Very simple to have a sniper that insta-kills someone, or at least deals a lot of accurate damage without being detected.

Point Lookout, for one, had a sniper that from a distance he didn't even appear in compass, would shoot rapid fire with sniper rifle, always scoring headshots to the player. This was after escaping the Chinese-execution-chamber-thing. A real nasty one that guy, especially with difficulty-increasing mods.

That Arkansas guy you have to enslave in the normal game was like that too.

I wish there were more encounters like that, I actually had to be really careful if in Arkansas' LOS lest he shoot a car and set off multiple mines at once in my face. Unfortunately, it was also easy to block his LOS once you realized he never left that location, which made it a simple matter to get on the hills above and fire down on him instead.

I am rather disappointed by both factions' Assassin Squads, since they tend to approach from out of your LOS and could easily plug you before you knew they were there. Which, after all, is how assassins are supposed to operate...

Do not become frigthened by them, I wanted to see what they would do after three days and all they did was show up and said I had one more chance.

Then I waited again and they never came back.

But the Legion Assassins simply attack, do not [censored] with them because they will show up every three days to kill you.

Meh, lately there's only one that comes up to me and attacks me, the others stand motionless quite far away.

Both are somewhat buggy.

Both are a bit buggy.

I remember the first time somebody found me in the wasteland to kill me (back in F3). I was being a good guy and I was told of Tenpenny Tower so I started heading in that direction when Talon Company stopped and then killed me as soon as they started shooting.

I was terrified of hit squads until I was level 12.

They were a lot better done in F3 than in NV (polish wise).
