I don't remember if it was Wedgwood or Stern that said it, but they way they have the HUD right now is that nothing that isn't currently important will go away.
Possible examples:
If you have no grenades: your grenade indicator goes away
If you have not comms hacked an enemy and your map shows nothing of importance: your map goes away
If you are at full health: your health bar goes away
If you aren't shooting/picking up ammo: your ammo indicator goes away
That's the general idea, it'll be interesting to see how they implement it, because it's be really cool for stuff that i don't need to get out of my way, but if the game decides that i don't need something, makes it disappear, and then i decide that i do need it (For example, checking ammo on the fly without firing) then the system falls apart :brokencomputer:
