A few questions regarding Dreamsleeve, Sithis, Aetherius and

Edit: Sort of new question, how does the dreamsleeve work? Do we have any working idea's? Also skimming through the imperial library at the moment for more info.

Hello everyone! I'm an avid fan of TES and love the lore of the series. Been wrapping my head around many concepts of it (especially the mythology) but have been having troubles with some.

Whats the difference of Sithis and Oblivion? From what I can tell, the void is what spawned the Et'Ada but how does it differ from Oblivion? Also where is Atherius in all this?

Another question is I havn't yet seen any references to what the dreamsleeve is but have heard other members of this forum talking about it. What is the dreamsleeve?

I may have more questions to come and will use this thread probably for the future questions. I'm currently working on the storyline and idea's of a mod I have for skyrim while I wait for the Creation Kit to be released and I'm trying to keep it as accurate as possible to the lore, while adding some new lore that is true to TES and believable. Thanks in advance my fellow TES lovers!

1. Sithis is representitive of change, or padomay, I think, Aethrius is another plane of conception all-together, and exists through the tear in Oblivion which is the sun.

2. The dreamsleeve is where your soul goes when you die while it waits to be recycled into a new body.

If you haven't, I recommend reading http://imperial-library.info/content/cosmology and http://imperial-library.info/content/pocket-guide-nature-places-not-here.

Ah thanks a lot Wolf Redeemer, those documents helped tremendously. I'm still quite confused and have a lot more that I need to study on the subject but it is fascinating.

Edit: Also, how does the dreamsleeve work? I understand now that its where souls go while their bodies are being re-constructed, but do both mortal souls and deadra go there?

Daedra, upon the destruction of their physical bodies, go to the waters of oblivion. Unlike mortals, who lose their memories as a result of the whole death thing, Daedra remember both the waters of oblivion and what happens before someone whacks their physical body. The Daedra fear this experience, as it's torturous for them. This seems to be part of the reason why lesser daedra ally themselves with the various princes, as the princes can offer an easy escape from the waters of oblivion.

DarthRavanger already answered your question, so here's a few extra references:

An old thread, http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?showtopic=1000865.

And another lore book, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Spirit_of_the_Daedra.
