Unlocking shouts concern

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 12:26 pm

Playing Skyrim on PC, pretty far into the game so far I've got exactly 30 dragon souls accumulated, though whenever i try to unlock the many shouts I have located nothing seems to work. Clicking on the dimmed names only displays a message telling me i require dragon souls, and pressing R to unlock is completely unresponsive aswell as clicking the word "unlock". So far only the shouts I have been given in the main quest and required to complete it are functional and I feel like I'm missing out on a large aspect of the game, anyone had this problem and managed to find a way to fix it? Help would be appreciated.

Strange issue. You may need to progress the main quest further to unlock them. Idk

It might be a different button. I thought the same thing on Xbox pressing "A" alot but it was the "X" button

Don't remap your keys. I don't know why you'd want to change that one anyways.

Solution: Reset keys to default.

Ah, that was it! Thank you, I never thought that rebinding keys would keep the symbols as default, I guess the "sheath weapon" command is what I was looking for. Thanks again.

I switched the 'r' and 'f' keys in my game (I was used to how the point of view and drawing/sheathing weapons were in Oblivion). Have you remapped the 'r' key? If so, you may need to press what you switched that key to.

np

It doesn't change the context menus, and rather than change only the in-game key, it also changes the key in the options (so T to recharge a weapon changes if you switch Sleep/Wait). Also, some buttons simply don't work after being changed. I can't remember the specific ones, but I'd say switch as few as possible.
