They can make the whole world shake just by calling you. Of course you don't mess with the old men.

At the end of my first visit to the Greybeards, they taught me their lessons and sent me on my way and, as usual, I hung around to chat for a bit. As soon as I started asking questions (still in dialogue mode!) I saw a couple very un-Greybeardy guys run into the background and start an attack. I broke out of the conversation to fight them off, but, well... the NPC who sent those three thugs after me really should have hired smarter thugs. They were brutally shouted down in very short order. I had time to get off maybe one or two arrows before it was all over, but the head Greybeard did all the real work.
