Just made it to Riften last night (only been to 3 towns so far...taking my tame, savouring everything) and I quite like it. Very dark and ominous. I've heard talk of both the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood already from a local, so I think that's adding to the atmosphere.

I like Solitude, too. Took me ages to figure out it was located hundreds of metres above where I was. Beautiful scenery, watching the boats below.

My character is a blacksmith so Whiterun is absolutely perfect for me. Although with over 50 hours of play with a level 30 character I still haven't been to Falkreath or Markarth, or back to Helgen after the start of the game, and I only passed through Dawnstar once on my way to Winterhold. So I still have plenty of stuff left to explore...

I've only been to whiterun and winter hold and whitrun wins hands down winter hold is a dump excluding my beloved college if it wasn't blowing a storm there would be some brilliant views I reckon....the cold at least enables my conjurer to hit the books indoors instead

Markath, but I really like Falkreath for the merchants and things... I feel everything is really easy to get to etc. Plus Falkreath sounds cool, like a Scottish type name

Well I've had this game since launch and I've barely left Whitrun other then quests..I've become somewhat of a local..I play tag with the children, bring in income for all the shops

Other then a couple scuffles with the guards regarding their tone about me and the companions everything is fine
