Shahvee

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 10:47 pm

The issue is that not every favor is available to every player. I think it's part of Bethesda's efforts to prevent every two game from being alike. On one character, Shahvee wouldn't give me a quest, but I could get a quest in Whiterun to get a bard to stop harassing a woman. On this current character, I could get the Shahvee quest, but I couldn't get the bard one. I'm pretty sure the game generates a list of which NPCs will give you favors, but I'm not sure at which point that list is generated.

If that's true, that's stupid as hell and obnoxious, and there has to be a console command to change that around. It's especially obnoxious because Shahvee is the only female argonian to marry.

Until a better solution is offered, here's a save file at the beginning of the game with Shahvee's favor quest already active: http://www.mediafire.com/?cw7kt4287e47074

Just load it and use "showracemenu" to chance your race.

"startquest favor204" didn't seem to do anything, so I had to teleport to Whiterun (coc whiterun; coc windhelm doesn't work) spawn 20 gold, take the carriage, take Shavee's quest and teleport back to Helgen. Aside from a couple discovered locations, this file is otherwise normal - it's at the point where you choose to follow Ralof or Hadvar.

I can't figure out why StartQuest doesn't seem to do anything. But there has to be a way to manually start the quest with the console or something.

Messing around with this save file I noticed some stuff - Shahvee's quest is a Misc. quest. It also does not seem to show up in the console listing of quests, and none of her other dialogue is listed when you call for Shahvee's dialogue. I can not find a way to display what Shahvee's quest ID is, because it's not showing up in that list.

Is there any console command that displays the quest id of all of your quests? That way I could use that save file to find out what her quest's id is, and then try starting it on my other save file. Or does anyone just happen to know what her quest ID is?

It's like her quest has reached a mythical status. It is told in legend that a man had received such a quest.

Her quest won't even give an ID? I've been hacking away at my misc quest list, going from three pages worth down to only a couple left. Making sure to do all fetch quests first. She's still being tight lipped though.

If it's pre-determined when you start a new game as to what NPCs will give you quests and what will not, what happened to giving choice to the player? Theres always the option to turn a quest down. I would rather that then simply never getting it.

I think I've found out how:
Along with already have completed the Companions questline as well as Blood on the Ice, Ive been having trouble getting her.
However, as soon as I purchased Breezehome in Whiterun, I went to her and was able to accept her favor.

Conclusion:
Perhaps you need to own a home to do her favor, seeing as she does not own one.

Dunno about that, I bough the house in Riften and that made no difference.

I will try the Whiterun home anyway just to test it, at either rate I'll make sure to post exactly what quest I completed if she does eventually unlock.

Having a whiterun home might be a requirement, but it alone is not enough because I've had that and she's never offered me the quest or anything.

I've been watching this thread and decided to start a new game and see what happens. I did all of the starting stuff to get out of Helgen, then followed Hadvar to Riverwood where I picked up the quest from the blacksmith to go to Whiterun. Along the way I accidentally got the very first part of the champions quests because I ran through the farm where they were killing the giant. I then went to the guy with the carriage, used the console to give myself some gold, then took the carriage to Riften to get the amulet. After that I took the carriage to Windhelm, swam across the river, jumped up on the docks, and was able to get the quest from Shahvee with no problem. The only misc. quest I had was to join the legion, and I had done nothing in Whiterun.

Now on my first game where I had done all the champions stuff, had the home in Whiterun, and done all sorts of other stuff including all the misc. quest in Windhelm I could find along with the blood and ice quest, and countless quests in other cities, she won't offer me her quest.

My brain hurts.

Is that girl you have problem with a Khajiit lover? The one that wants to travel with a caravan?
*spoiler*
the one that asks you for a mammoth tusk?

Another post from another forum with some useful info

I finally got Shahvee to offer her quest.

The extra line is about something regarding how Argonians have bad luck or something.

As for the quest name? Bethesda trolled us. It's listed under Miscellaneous as "Find Shahvee's Amulet of Zenithar in [location]" which for me was Gallows Rock, a dungeon I had already cleared.

Her quest ID is Favor204. (use showquesttargets to get a quest's ID)
The odd thing is, if I use "setstage 20" during the quest it ends it and I can marry Shahvee.

If I use the startquest Favor204 command... nothing happens (even more Bethesda trolling!). Could someone else try this as well?"

So we know the Quest ID now. But I'm starting to think the Start Quest command is a bit of a red herring. But there HAS to be some command that will manually trigger a quest if you know the quest id. Or hell, maybe there's a command to just complete a quest even if you don't have it? Have to try that..

I can confirm that owning Breezehome does not effect her quest, just bought and decorated it then. Nice place!

Fiddling about with the quest ID sounds like the plan, if anyone is successful forcing the quest to either start or complete. Please post!

Hm, so, I tried things like "CompleteQuest" and such...seemingly did nothing as she didn't gain any new dialogue. However, ShowQuestObjectives or something, DID show that her quest had the completed status next to the steps. I don't know if it's SUPPOSED to do this, but a strange thing was it just said something to the effects of "[questloc]/[questgiver]" for the steps of "find amulet at x" and "return amulet to shahvee". That is, instead of naming her, or using her npc id, it said that. Either way, I still didn't get any new dialogue.

Something else strange is that in another topic, it was listed how to make it so an npc would join you as a companion - open up the console and type in "
addtofaction 0005C84D 0", in short. Well, I tried that on Scouts-Many-Marshes and it worked, I had the option to ask him to join me. Just like how I could use the console to make other npcs marry me that wouldn't before.

Neither command seemed to have an effect on Shahvee though, strangely enough. I don't understand it at all.

Edit - The frustrating thing is, I can't even use these commands to skirt using Shahvee, since there are like no other female argonians to use anyway.
