Do I need a program like DOSBox to play Arena and Daggerfall?

I ask because I can play (the steam version) of Doom and Wolfenstein, which use the DOS like Command prompt to launch, so could I do the same with Arena and Daggerfall, and them add them to my Steam Account as non-steam games?

Technically, yes. Running without it would cause some problem with the game, like actually playing it. Doom and such on Steam uses DOSBox. Just run custom configurations of dosbox per each installation and add those to Steam.

How would I accomplish this?
