I'm personally wrapping up my characters backstory which leads up to his sentenced executution for Skyrim, and I am curious among the more learned out there: Who is the law in Skyrim? In Oblivion, it was the Imperial Legion. I've read a slight amount about the Stormcloaks and such. Is it the Imperial Army? Thanks a lot folks!

Would depend on which hold you are in, I'd imagine.

Stormcloaks in rebel controlled areas, or the Imperial Legion in the side that sides with the empire.

Regional guards enforcing bounties for their own factions. Imperial Legion and Stormcloaks could be a bit more spread out across several holds, maybe enforcing bounties for allied holds.

Who is the law? Whoever has the biggest stick.
