The Morrowind Dead is Dead Thread

At max difficulty, there's always the risk that a seemingly harmless enemy can kill you in one hit without you being able to fight back, which is always annoying as heck. Cave Rats, how I loathe thee.

I am currently planning a DiD character of my own, since reloading as often as I usually do kind of seems to cheapen the gameplay, but I doubt I'll be playing at max difficulty this time around. Perhaps I'll do what I did back in the day and increase the difficulty level for each level gained or something along those lines.

...Dagoth Ur will be a tough nut to crack though. Not because of the boss himself, but because I am using Darknut's Greater Dwemer Ruins, which has an almost ridiculous amount of instant death traps. :ninja:

The problem with Dead is Dead:

I think, if I were playing a Dead is Dead character, I'd play far too conservatively, and ruin some of the fun. I like fights that are challenging, but if I were going to play Dead is Dead, I'd just spend my time making myself as uber-prepared as possible for any fight, and then, pretty soon, no fight would be challenging.

Knowing I can just load a save from 5 or 10 minutes ago means I don't have to worry about taking some risks, then when I beat an enemy which was a risk and a hard challenge, it's more fun.

Sweet! The only problem I have with your site is that the whole point of this style of play is to not end up on your site. If you think the game is too easy, then try not cheating, not consoling and not doing all the little things people do to get by in the game. Take one character on max difficulty all the way through all MQ’s and as many side quests as you can without dying…ever. I almost made it with Kara and I’m doing fine with her replacement Scarlet (who will never grace your site).

That's true, the MO is not to get there in the first place. But it's a graveyard. We spend our entire lives trying to stay out of it. But, when the time comes...we have a place to go.

And like Gunny says in the explanation, "It's not for everyone". Personally, I'm hooked. I can't play any other way.

Would it be alright if I wrote sort of a Journal type thing, writing it in character and with the date that I decide to write it and such?

If so, I'm going to do that.
