Vampire-ism

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 2:33 pm

So I sleep and it says the vampire message basically and I don't want to be a vampire! And so I load back and it says I was unintentionally infected and when I sleep I will become a vamp. But on the wiki its say i can cure it with potion to cure disease? Is that right. And I really need help in finding someone who sells potions. I'm new and ignorant to the game and don't know who I can buy them from and if there is a shop just for potions. Because I want someone I can buy potion of healing from but I can't find any. And does anyone know where I can get this "potion of cure disease" and if this is going to fully get rid of it? It says I have 72 hours or something. So thanks to any help.

-Cheers

Go to the local Mages Guild in whatever city you are in. They will usually have an alchemist who sells potions. Skingrad does not have a guild alchemist. If you are there go down the street to All Things Alchemical and say hi to Falanu. Or if you are in the Imperial City, try The Gilded Carafe, or The Main Ingredient, both in the Market District.

Eating a mandrake root will do the same thing, as its first effect is cure disease. In fact you can save yourself a lot of money, and just buy that from the alchemists above instead of the potion.

You can also simply pray at the main altar in any of the chapels. So long as you do not have more infamy points than fame points, or an active bounty, that will also cure any diseases you have.

Really? It's easy. If you can find a vampire lair, sometimes in the process of fighting them your char. willl get infected. If your char. is also part of the Dark Brotherhood, the main vampire guy in the guild will

offer you his "gift" at some point, and you get to say "yes" or "no".

If you've got any sort of Resist Disease regalia, it might help to take it off your character. Also, Argonians can't become vampires, as they've got 100% resist disease at all times. Right?

Wrong. Porphyric Hemophelia ignores Resist Disease.

You're on the right track if you want to get rid of it. Unless you play on the PS3. I hear the cure quest is bugged. To get the soul gems you could try looking at the Mages Guild vendors or Ayelid ruins (leveled loot in some chests).

If you play on the PC before you get cured you should try some vampire mods first. It can make for a different experience. I enjoy LTD's overhaul & Training Cattle myself.
