Post » Thu Sep 17, 2009 1:26 am

i just took another look at the current gameplay footage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDPc-6SrfQI&fmt=22&annotation_id=annotation_649182&feature=iv
Spoiler
...and i sorta get a bad feeling. so please riddle me this... (please psomebody prove me wrong!!!) what i am talking about starts getting really obvious around: 4:06
1. this is most recent footage, right?
2. looks like PS3, from the menu buttons, right?
3. why then does it look soo bad and pixel- / polygonated, taking into account the container vids are earlier AND on x-box (again menu buttons).
4. don't loose sight of the red guys the guy shoots just below this archway! basically check out all dead guys lying around. the twitch up and down trying to mimic a scream for help but all at the same time. wtf, that looks [:shakehead:] up?
5. worst of all at the end of the round the guy plants the bomb! do you guys recall the nice looking timer in the container city walkthrough? look at 6:38

please tell me this isn't recent footage----

Graphics go down if you dont upload the video in HD go to an official site to watch videos to get the best grasp of the games graphics this was from a while back around E3 I think, machinema stole this video from an interview with Wedgwood.
Ill find the link if you really want to see it

It's bad quality for some reason. I know for sure that the trailer I saw was less pixelated.
When he's planting he uses a skill in which he can go third person while completing the objective. The bomb looks the same as the one of the preview for as far as I've seen.

1: THis years E3, so its not the newest available.
2: So? It's multi-console
3: Youtube compresses video quality to save space
4: ???
5: That's the 3rd person camera ability.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to say.

Uploaded 17. June... I think this was the E3 Demo, which was actually created when the game was in alpha/pre-beta, so don't consider graphics and stuff as final. I think the most recent ingame scences can be found in the dev diarys.

thought of that too, i haven't found a better version. container city looks way better, and its from dec 09 or jan 10...
if you can find a link, i'd really appreciate that...

sure, but for a brief second you see him in 1. person looking at the charge. here's the view of container city at 2:01. looks different, doesn't it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UWtGCsd_SI

i'talking about those guys at 4:55, doing the same motion over and over again, simultaneously. that freaks me out. imagine all bodies jerking up at the same time. aweful animation IMO

Funny note: You always get an advertisemant at IGN before your requested video loads. My advertisemant was one off Brink :D

The screen is the same, it seems as if they added some kind of gas/fluid containers under this screen, which actually makes sense. I don't see the problem with it being different.

It's the animation from when you're down aka incapacitated. I think it's just coincidence that they're moving at the exact same time. Maybe they got taken out by the same grenade or something.. Would explain why they're moving together.

If you look http://www.gametrailers.com/game/brink/11373 you can browse through more recent Brink videos for a better idea of the graphics. The 360 version seems to have pretty excellent graphics, as will the PC version of course (and the PS3 version as well). That video, as others have said, is quite outdated graphically.

About every gameplay vid we have seen from "360" has been played on PC with a controller.
I don't know about the E3 vid but it could be played on the PS3 and probably is, hence worse graphics.

yeah, i did take all that into account. but i'm absolutely frightend about those graphics i saw. and believe me i had nightmare of this cheesy final stand animaation.
no matter how they're filmed this content, uploaded and compressed it, whatsoever. this footage svcks big time. the GT link actually just features compilations of former uploads of SD. u can't be 100% sure that those are acutal ingame footage.

darn, i pray for a new PAX vid, prooving me dead wrong.
