Could you not have said so at the beginning of the thread ? :poke: :P

Difference between lying and misunderstanding. It's confirmed height is not adjustable. All races are different heights.

Nevermind

I hope the Weight adjuster works like Soul Calibur 4.

I have a surprise for you guys: journalists can be wrong and misremember things. Pete confirmed that height is fixed.

The journalist probably confused weight with height.

Pete Hines said via twitter that height isn't adjustable back during PAX.

No idea if its possible or not. I've not played the game as have many others who'd tell you its possible/not possible.

This is correct you could at one point but it was removed cause of clipping issues with some armor sets.

You can also add weight to your character (fat, sluggish tigers FTW!)
You can also adjust the height of your character, and their overall size.

Sounds too good to be true...

Each race has its own height. You can't adjust it. Not everyone will be the same height, but all Dunmer will be the same height as all other Dunmer, etc...

Aye, I think Pete said in a tweet that this was the case.

It is you can't make an obese character, you can however make them from a slim figure to a muscular bulky brute or anything in between those.

So he missunderstood what he saw on the screen while testing the game? Seems unlikely (unless he has bad eyesight).

My thinking is, you CAN change height of your character. WHY:

1. Journalist CANNOT be wrong, because he wrote: "In Skyrim, however, you can also add weight to your character [...] You can also adjust the height of your character, and their overall size."
2. Dragonborn said : "You cannot adjust height due to body/armor meshes." - notice that every race has different height. So, you really think they've created one armor in about 1000 versions for fat characters, skinny characters, tall characters, short characters, middle characters, middle-tall characters, fat-medium-short-bulky characters (the list go on 993 times...) ? Doubt it.
3. Pete Hines tends to talk nonsense. He once even said that sometimes he can talk [censored] because he's not always well informed about the game progression. Maybe he played some old version of the game and the journalist played the newest one with new sliders?
4. The video that shows khajiit customization menu might be from the old version. It's a bit older than the preview.
5. I like cookies.

be intresting if there is. there should be as much cherecter customizatiooon as possible to make up for the deletion of Atributes and skill modification in the game.

Character height categorically cannot be changed. Each race has its own height. You can't change it.

Sorry people!

Snip

6) You're wrong.

Sammu played the same demo as the journos and he just said you can't adjust height. Pete said you can't adjust height. A dev said you can't adjust height. Journos have been wrong plenty of times before.

The guy who wrote http://thisismyjoystick.com/feature/hands-on-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim says that character height is adjustable (second last sentence above the image showing a warrior from behind). However, in a video I saw there were no sign whatsoever of any height slider. So, who's right? The author of the article or the video?

P.S: The video was uploaded 6 days before the article was posted. Perhaps the author played a more up-to-date version of the game?

EDIT: Removed video link due to possible violations of forum rules.

As I recall both height and body mass are adjustable.
