So i was forced to do fresh windows install last week as one of my HD arrays failed,damn Raid0.

Anyways my games Crysis and Crysis Warhead have both now come up saying activation limits have been reached.
So i hit google to find a solution and find myself over at EA support about 2 minutes later.

I chat with a guy on there who tells me there is nothing they can do now to activate my games as their authorization tool is offline and they dont know when its back online.

Damn,2 of my favourite games both unable to be played on.

So i left it couple days and got back in touch with EA support to get my games activated.
I get told the same thing again,nothing we can do,authorization tool is no longer working,we can not activate your games.

Is this fair? firstly,game has DRM but i have no way to revoke my licence and then to top it off the game maker themsleves can not activate my game for me once my activation limit has been reached!!

I think EA need to listen hard now..please remove the DRM from Crysis or provide a way to revoke/activate/manage this games licence.

Im not expecting anything out of the ordianry and my expectations are reasonable ones.
EA i expect you to resolve my issue with both my game activation limits or provide me with fresh copys of both games with no further delay to myself.

I will hold my hands up and say...ok,maybe i should have got clued up as to how to revoke warheads licence...my bad,but the fact Crysis' licence cant be revoked or reactivated is a situation that should not arise.

I love all,please give me back my games!!

While i appreciate your input and its something that has crossed my mind....

Is this really the only solution?
I dont really like the idea of using a modified game executable as its a little frowned upon and im sure i will also loose online play in Crysis 1 if i use a game crack.

Id like to hear from EA on this,im sure there are site admin that skim through our posts that could contribute a little and maybe help me out.

I wouldnt have actually thought it to even be legal to force DRM in a game but not offer a way to manage the licence activation,the very idea is so unreasonable.
I have spoken to EA support twice and also made contact with a 3rd tier Electronic Arts Senior Support Representative,but still they offer no way to give me more game activations.
I have only used my 5 original activations,its not as if i ask for this on a regular basis.

I have now also contacted SecuROM with full details of my 3 EA support chats,to bring this situation to their attention as im sure they will agree that it is infact very wrong to force DRM in a game yet not to provide a way to manage the games licence activation.

I hate it when people bash on companys all the time like the Crysis 2 launch and no DX11 ,so it saddens me to say that im very very dissapointed with Electronic Arts right now and will outright refuse to buy any game they make until they at least make a deccent attempt to resolve my situation.

I am also going to bring this situation to my friends over at overclock.net forums,im sure a few of them may be shocked to hear EA have offered me no way to activate my legally owned,paid for less than 12 months old copy of Crysis,should make for quite some discussion i do think.

I guess it is questionable using a crack, but it is legal since you already own a copy of the game

Yeah i could use the game crack and nearly searched for one last night as i really wanted to play but i resisted temptation on the grounds of pricipal.

I shouldnt have to crack the game i legaly own,its a disgrace as far as im concerned and i said before,it is an issue EA need to take seriously and resolve immediately.
So as of now the games are still not activated,i plan on having another EA support chat in 2 days time,hopefully i will manage to get 2 new copys from them as this just is not fair at all,i own many EA games so i think its fair to say im a good customer.

I would expect better technical assistance with a free to play game.

Well, just try again tomorrow with EA Support. When their system is working, you'll be sorted.

So guess i will have to leave 48-72 hours....again,just wondering when they will have an ETA for the tool actually working.

Also looking at the chat afterwards,the conversation seemed to be going well and really sounded positive and the way the live chat progressed i was sure i was going to get my games activated right there and then, i was asked my email address and told to stay online while they checked my account for issues.
Was asked about if i had registered the games,then was asked the CD keys of both games....once i mentioned i bought them from Steam...well,hmm,i was told the tool for game activation was offline!

Is it just me or does that sound fishy given the fact of EA games being pulled from Steam lately...

They only mentioned that the activation tool was down after i told them it was purchsed from Steam,if the tools down why not tell me straight away right at the beginning of the conversation instead of asking for my cd key and looking at my account etc?

Anyway i will post back in few days again on my 5th attempt to have EA activate my paid for and legally owned copys of Cryss and crysis Warhead,think its clear now im getting a little annoyed with this unresolved technical assistance.

Almost bought another copy of Crysis today but resisted...just about,still like playing it and do quite often.

Next time you contact EA support, ask to speak to a tier 2 operator.

Then, if they can't fix it, demand some kind of compensation. You might get an origin voucher or a free game if you're lucky. Something to play until their 'tool' comes back online.

UPDATE:

now resolved as EA have given me 2 more activations on each game,just hope its possible to de-authorise Crysis when i need too as i only have 2 activations.

Anyone know how to de-authorize 1st Crysis as i couldnt find a tool last time i searched for one?!

turns out after talking to EA support again that you can use Warheads de-authorization tool,but i dont belive that one bit so i had them confirm that i can get further activations via EA support chat with no problems if the warhead tool doesnt work..saved in my emails as im sure i will need that for a later date.

I did that with my Need 4 Speed Undercover - Download was available a few minutes later - I too had problems with that key, so EA support hooked me up with a new key and Origin digital download.

Was actually going through some of my old games to see if I could get a digital version by doing the Redeem Key in Origin to see if a Digital Download will be available.. most of the older ones dont work but picked up my already installed retail version of Crysis 2.. I will de-authorize and uninstall it and see if it becomes available as a download...

Say does it make the Retail Key invalid or can I keep using it? That's why Crysis won't install anymore... only realised that now... if its the same thing as it's already installed?

Yes, I havn't had time yet to do the uninstall/reinstall to see if i will get the digital download yet.. too busy playin the game.. will give it a go when i get home later...
