Nothing but garbage bloom to attempt to mask the medium/low graphics. Not surprising the picture taken is on high instead of very high. There's a big difference between the two.

Of course its not going to be as good graphically - the IMPORTANT thing is - will the gameplay still be awesome?

Got both Crysis and Warhead for my PC and loved them - can't wait to play on my big screen with the PS3

Yea that 0 meter draw distance on foliage is sick. The only level thats going to look as good on console as it did on PC is Core and perhaps Reckoning.

Can you tell us which tweak/ToD you're using for having such a high rendering quality in your game ?
Because this is what I get in mine :

I love it. PC players are utterly uneffected by this and yet they are still pissing and moaning about it beating their chest.

look, It's obvious Crysis 1 cannot be all that is was on PC while running on consoles but Crytek is trying to give the console players a "crysis" experience and doing so is a challenge (that may require compromise). The existence of this port/adaptation/remake/whatever you want to call it only benefits the console players who missed out on the first game while leaving the pc players untouched unless they really want to see what crysis 1 would look like on cryengine 3 and that is their choice. I commend Crytek's dedication and their ability to work with a limited hardware and still getting these results.

Meh, everyone knows it's not going to be the same game. There'll be shorter draw distances and worse aesthetic quality on consoles. Not to mention the fact that consoles won't have access to mods which increase visual quality years after release (CCCMod makes Crysis 1 still one of the best looking games ever on PC)

However, by porting the original Crysis, there lies the possibility that we won't have to relive the atrocity of Crysis 2 in Crysis 3. If Crytek become convinced that console players want the same kind of games as we want on PC, there's a small chance we'll actually get something out of this.

These images are actually off quite considerably, quality wise.

The trailer was actually captured using an earlier version of the game, it has since been improved (before these comparisons even arose) and I feel like we ought to clear this up somewhat. Below i've attached some images of how these scenes actually look;

I'll probably be buying it on my PS3 to send just that message. Crysis 1 was great, so i want PC gamers to have the best game possible for Crysis 3, that way it filters down to better quality game on console too.

Downgrade a PC game to console level rather than upgrade a console game to PC level i say. Hopefully the difference won't be so great by the time the next gen of consoles releases

It's almost like they have completely forgotten about Crysis 2..

Crytek's way: Always focus on the next project.

Besides They should of postponed Crysis 2 ( Yes I know C2 was supposed to ship summer 2010 anyway ) and submit C1 in early march to give Crytek more experience making games for the console, or more accurately give Crytek UK more experience using the Cryengine 3 to make a multiplayer component for C1, like a simple 4 v 4 or something, not too many weapons just something simple.

Well, we know that Crysis 1 is only being released on consoles because Crysis 2 underperformed in terms of sales. Hopefully enough console players will buy this version that they'll realise how much of a mistake it was to take the series in that direction[Crysis 2], and fire that damn writer who seems to dislike continuity.

It won't play like Crysis on PC. 'improved suit controls' have been mentioned in interviews, and the video trailers show the armour mode 'webbing' on the screen, suggesting that you'll see the C2 setup, and that armour mode won't be the default recharge mode it was in the original.

I'd wait for a demo to see, but I doubt very much it'll play like the original. You can almost guarantee the streamlined/ruined 'power' mode will be in, I am interested as to whether they'll charge you suit energy to sprint though, that really would take the cake.

Yep, it's becoming pretty clear who this game is being created and marketed for: Console players (more specifically Xbox360 players) who liked C2 and would pay a little something for the original single player story, not the original "experience"

It's NOT being made for fans of the original game who are disappointed in the direction of C2.

As a console player I feel that by buying this "remastered" Crysis version, I won't be casting a vote for the original Crysis formula. I'll just be giving Crytek more money and being disappointed. It's sliding into a "no Buy" for me. The only reason I would get it would be out of curiosity to see how good a job they do with the graphics. An expensive way to satisfy my curiosity

Hopefully more footage, and perhaps even a demo will become available soon to satisfy our curiosity, but while I won't be buying it either way as a PC player, I would find it quite depressing if Crytek has officially now gone full retard.

I don't think they realise, even the console customer base they're focusing their attention on now want better games than they're being given. It seems like Crytek are aiming for the graphical superiority of Crysis, while leaving behind the gameplay that made it popular.

.

You are definitely using a few third party mods/texture packs there on the PC side so it isn't a vanilla comparison. If you compare the vanilla the xbox doesn't look too bad at all (for an xbox and not the alpha pic you posted). It's definitely had some textures and bits updated for cryengine3. The third party mods on PC obviously blow the xbox away though.
