honest opinion on Crysis 1 for consoles.

It has been told in Crysis 1s story that the koreans evacuated the island before they start working on the dig site and tried to open the gate.
I'm talking about believable story telling here! Crysis looks like huge awesome but empty theatrical stage. I can't believe that Koreans evacuated the whole island, cause I can't see any evidence of it in level design.

or were you banking on getting to know all the soldiers you see dying later on?
I mean that squad doesn't work like well-trained squad during entire game! Nomad cleans up entire korean camp alone and then cut-scene! It doesn't make any sense!

As for the cliffhanger, it was pretty damn obvious why they were going back to the island, and if it weren't for Crytek's poor decisions, we'd have found out the result in Crysis 2.
Poor decision was to end the first game like this.

Besides, it's not like Crysis 2 ended with any real resolution. Alcatraz now has an OP viral catalyst suit and only New York has been purged of aliens...
It was very great ending! Because nano-suit was the main character of the story and player was completing its assimilation. Speaking about New York, at least it has been purged of aliens, meanwhile in Crysis...

...and why nobody else realised there were aliens under Central Park despite the fact they've been laying pipes and wires there for decades.
I can ask the same question about Crysis. And about every movie, book or any other artistic work which makes improbable assumption that aliens are already here on Earth, already among us. It's not a big deal. It is a very popular genre cliche.

I think both stories svcked, maybe crysis 1 had an edge, SLIGHTY. Its all Micheal Bay action crap over the top, no emotion or attachment to the characters, their just killed off or boosted up for whatever bizarre reason. Lets be real, crysis is about the settings, gameplay, and graphics. Just my .02

Digital Foundry says in some ways the console version is better graphically, such as some rock textures, better lighting, and some other stuff. I think it's obvious that the PC version wins out in most ways though. Not to mention, I much prefer the PC version's more natural look, but that's a preference rather than a flaw.

Crytek, could you not give us the option of having more natural lighting like in the PC version? All it is is a flip of a switch, right? I don't like the blue tint a lot of the game has.

Oh, and maybe you could give me the PC version's pad controls? The only thing I didn't like about them on PC was how hard it was to aim while zoomed in, how you couldn't toggle kneeling down, and it having no prone.

@ Ken2u

Ive played every Crysisgame there is in german (my first language) and english.
And beleive it or not i had a hard time understanding what the **** is going on in Crysis 2.
Its cryptic as hell for me and i still dont understand the symbiosis thingy and why all other Nanosuitsoldiers are "walking corpses" now.
Prophet died because of an infection... mentioned in the beginning... but Nomad and Psycho arent as far as i know... so why are they dead men walking? It makes no sense. Also the nanosuit was a military weapon. The military had the ability to get access to the suits and even modify them at the ending of CRysis 1.
And they didnt know it was symbiotic? Hell they sure tested the damn things before using them for their squads!
Thats not even logical for a game or a movie to say "the suits are dangerous to the one who wears it" but we used it many times before in military operations.
In Crysis 2 you are the only one with that damn thing. Not even a single other nanosuitsoldier is around.
THAT doesnt make sense! A small island in the far east needs countless squads of nanosoliders but the fate of NEW YORK lies in the hands of some "normal" army rangers and infantries? Thats a nobrainer. They just ignored the universe created in Crysis 1 and then tried to somehow make it canon to Crysis 2. The result... a canon- noncanon storymess.

And i mean this technically and not the missing level.

Yes. the console version is good but I have a few complaints..
1. Max speed is automatic!? Running to a short distance drains suit energy wtf!! What a waste.
2. Like I said above, max speed is auto, so no normal sprint. svcks.
3. Walking is SOOOOO slow in this version. It's like you're crouched the whole time. Omg.
4. Can't regenerate energy while in armor mode like the PC version... so yeah.. bummer.
Well these are cons in my opinion anyway. I hope Crytek sees this..

What evidence do you need? They were evacuated not killed, so other than empty houses, which you have, there is nothing to expect

The whole point of the nanosuit soldiers is that they're capable of doing things which would otherwise take a whole squad; that, and the fact that half their squad was instantly killed upon reaching the island means that plans change. In Warhead you find out that Psycho was given different objectives to pull off, and Prophet presumably also had orders to follow.
As for the cliffhanger, it was pretty damn obvious why they were going back to the island, and if it weren't for Crytek's poor decisions, we'd have found out the result in Crysis 2.
Poor decision was to end the first game like this.
It was perfectly fine, it allowed for a continuation of the story, had Crytek chosen to follow it.

Besides, it's not like Crysis 2 ended with any real resolution. Alcatraz now has an OP viral catalyst suit and only New York has been purged of aliens...

It was an awful ending. Crysis wasn't about the suit being a character, it was about the main protagonist using advanced technology to carry out his investigation and mission on the island. The story focus shift to the nanosuit as a main character is an appalling direction.

...and why nobody else realised there were aliens under Central Park despite the fact they've been laying pipes and wires there for decades.

Actually, no you can't, because the aliens were discovered by the Koreans, and they were on a lowly populated and clearly technologically inferior island. There is a HUGE difference between remaining undiscovered there, and remaining undiscovered beneath a huge city.
