Unofficial Crysis 1 Console patch request.

Post » Mon Nov 28, 2011 11:03 pm

Thought I would start this hoping crytek support us console gamers with patches as much as they do with pc gamers. Anyway I'll start off with a few things I will mention that need fixing and a few requests.

-720p on consoles or at least the ps3 version matching the 360 resolution.

-Dithering shadows fixed-This is ugly and needs fixing.

-High resolution texture pack- Heck if battlefield 3 and rage are doing it on consoles why not crysis.

-Mods- No excuse why this shouldn't come to ps3 version sony allows mods why the hell develops haven't done this more is a shame. Unreal tornament 3 did it on ps3 all it did was allow transferring of files allowing mods pc mos on ps3 possible. Anyway please crytek give us the pc mods at least on ps3.

-Floor needs fixing on the part where the nano soldier is dead with parachute in the beginning on ps3.

-Objects floating, rocks, grass, signs, etc.

-Missing textures on ps3 that are on 360 version.

-Also nano suits colors off in ice levels in ps3 version. 360 version having proper colors.

Sounds like you should just buy an xbox cause I don't think they'll be doing anything about your requests. Hell they allready have your $

yep usually the same old story for PS3 owners, they always want their games patch or equal and that would be nice, but look how many times it actually happens after the game is released.

Never. It's called the shaft. It svcks even more hardcoe when you think about the old xbox and the ps2. The xbox got better mulitplatforms then too, so roughly 9 years of inferior multis with the 360/ps3 war if your a sony loyal(which doesn't make sense but there are fanboys)

What I want is the option is having more natural lighting in the console version. This can be done with the flip of a switch.

Yes. the console version is good but I have a few complaints..
1. Max speed is automatic!? Running to a short distance drains suit energy wtf!! What a waste.
2. Like I said above, max speed is auto, so no normal sprint. svcks.
3. Walking is SOOOOO slow in this version. It's like you're crouched the whole time. Omg.
4. Can't regenerate energy while in armor mode like the PC version... so yeah.. bummer.
Well these are cons in my opinion anyway. I hope Crytek sees this..

Oops! That's Crysis 2.

Because if we're talking about Crysis (1), then armor mode was about the fastest at energy refilling. :-|

I think you misunderstood. In the PC version, you can stay in armor mode all you want since energy doesn't drain while you walk and run around with it activated. This has changed in crysis 2 since armor mode has become somewhat similar to cloak which drains energy all the time even when immobile.
The fact that the armor in Crysis 1 for consoles has become just like the armor of crysis 2 svcks!

I already guessed what you meant with that, which is why I say that it's like Crysis 2.
I guess it's all the fault of this:
"Can't regenerate energy while in armor mode unlike the PC version."

@ shadownetone

1st." Thought I would start this hoping crytek support us console gamers with patches as much as they do with pc gamers"

I almost pissed myself as i read this. We got 2 Patches and 1 Hotfix for Crysis 1 and its still full with bugs. The once promising multiplayer is dead because Crytek refused to Patch the game!

2. "720p on consoles or at least the ps3 version matching the 360 resolution. "Dithering shadows fixed-This is ugly and needs fixing. "

I think you dont really understand how weak the consoles really are and how demanding Crysis is (even on Cryengine 3).
This is not Killzone 3 or Uncharted 2 were everything is limited except the grfx. These games made compromises which consoleplayers seem to ignore all the time. Detailtextures in Uncharted for example: They are sharp because the levels are really really small compared to Crysis and they also use the levelstructure to limit the drawdistance and the amount of polygons that have to be displayed.
In Crysis you can go almost everywhere you want in certain levels while the ingame physics are never scripted.
That alone takes a huge budged of performance.
The limitations are no bugs you can patch away... they are the visual proof of poor hardware.

3."High resolution texture pack- Heck if battlefield 3 and rage are doing it on consoles why not crysis."
First: Where did you find high res textures in rage? Do you even know what high res textures are?
Did you know that the BF3-texturepack for the 360 and Ps3 will be the quality of the "minimum" -settings textures from the PC version?
Again (no offense) but the consoles are used to the max already. Texturestreaming on PS3 was always a bottleneck which even the CELL couldnt compensate (because you cant overload it much more with texturestreaming and physicscalculation at the same time)

4."-Objects floating, rocks, grass, signs, etc.-Missing textures on ps3 that are on 360 version."
Again you cant do this without more ram. It would take down the whole game to unplayable low FPSrates.

5.-Mods-: Most of the PC mods use even more demanding settings and effects. Also the current mods for Crysis 1 PC were made on Cryengine 2 which is PC oriented.

Yeah, good luck guys. If video games were children Crytek would be the deadbeat dads that are in and out of the county jail for not paying child support. They'll pocket your money and you'll never hear a chirp out of them after that.
