Skyrim for PS3?

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 7:38 am

I have made the decision to buy this game, but I know my pc won't be able to handle it. So I have a ps3, but everybody tells me that it will not be nearly as good on it (ps3) and then I come on here and look at the poll that says that something like a thousand people are playing it on Xbox I am feeling discouraged. So, to reiterate, are there really any big differences between the three?
Thanks

Yes! It's amazing. It's easy (at least it was for me) to read all of the negative things people say about it and take them seriously, but the PS3 version is awesome. I had a 360 but I don't anymore, so I can't say anything about it, but they are likely very similar.

Have a look on the forum on ps3 and 360. Skyrim Hardware and Software Issues Subforums. It will maybe help you to choose what platform you need.
For PC http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ maybe you can run it in low res.

Console VS PC: I prefer to play on my extremely small 70 plasma + 7.1 surround systems that a 24 inch monitor.

I'm playing on PC rather than PS3 (I own both) but I'm reading nothing but good things about the PS3 version of the game. The negative press seems to have been from before the game was released and based off of Bethesda's past history with PS3 ports.

PS3 and 360 are no different, I guess it can depend on what controller you prefer, I cannot use the 360 controller

Everyone tells me the PC experience is much better, but the PS3/X360 versions are the same. I had oblivion on PS3, and I plan to get Skyrim on PS3 as well (I just prefer consols to the computer for gaming). If Skyrim is as good as Oblivion was, then I don't see how you could be disappointed.

Agree but the lag fest seem to be a software problem ... I hope they will fix this very soon. (I give them 3 week and if not return my game)

Skyrim, runs great on my ps3. although I believe you should buy it for pc, if your pc can handle it because than you'll be able to download modds, and all glitches bugs that aren't fixed by bethesda themselves will be fixed by modders.

but I haven't run into a single bug or gltich until now and I have been playing since saturday. know that I think of it, a little bit earlier my game did freeze and I had to restart my ps3, but it was the first time it happened and it hasn't happened again. perhaps it had something to do with the fact that I was already playing for more than five hours, none stop. :P

I have the PC version maxed out with no lag, woot. Sometimes, when I'm running through a zone, I'll think, "there's no way console players are going this fast." mauahah. :P

I haven't seen it running on a console except in videos. I'm going to go see if I can find a console vs. pc skyrim vid.

So will it lag? I don't have any full games on my ps3, just a couple of demos.

What PS3 have you got?

I've got the 120gb slim and I've had practically no lag at all yet, I hear that people with older PS3s have quite a bit though.
