Your "Corrupt" Files

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 10:45 am

i have the same problem after 37 hours into the game, but i have spoke with one of the developers and he said there working on the issue but unfortunately paches and updates dont fix things like corrupt files but he did say hang on to the saved files because their is a chance they might work after the patches, and no i didnt get a dead line or any idea on when these patches will be finished or released.anyways hoped that helped n im am definitely not thrilled about starting over but i have seen an EXP glitch in vault 11 that just might make it worth it after the patch but idk i really want my save file im way too far in the game just to start all over again:(
so really we have to rely on hope to fix our save files when a patch is released :(

I'm going to get a refund tomorrow and just wait until the Game of the Year Edition because I don't feel like waiting even if the patch comes out tomorrow before I return it. After multiple disc unreadable in a row on my second disc I am pretty much done for now.

Considering doing the same thing at this point. I'm sick of fussing with it.

So true, so true. Not to mention that all the problems with the game gave me cancer. Doctor's orders are to get my refund and spend it on something that works. But I can think of a game worth playing until something good comes out. :obliviongate:

It doesn't give me disc unreadable for any of my other games; it is only on Fallout New Vegas so it's definitely not my lens, I am fairly certain of that. But an intriguing thought none the less. How would one go about trying to clean that lens or am I boned? Either way since it only happens on one game I think it is safe to assume the problem is with the game and not my Xbox.

Either Morrowind or Oblivion (can't remember which) had the exact same disc read errors. Now that I think on it I believe it was Morrowind.

I would actually like to see all your solutions. I like to learn and I've been interested in the inner-workings of an Xbox360 (the problem with Xbox360 is the removal of Lead from Solder: Blame Europe). And yeah, it's only New Vegas but now I have a problem where Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project doesn't load (Xbox Live Arcade) and Borderlands like to freeze ever since that last patch.

like i said message me on my profile and ill get back to you about it it would take a long time to explain right now i at least need to get some coffee in me first lol.but for your other problem its probably the live update, try going to your memory "hard drive" goto cache it will say do you want to do maintenance press yes this takes off recent live updates so if you want try that it worked for me on some arcade games and 360 games alike

I did that a week ago and it worked for Borderlands but nothing for Duke Nukem: MP. I suppose I could try again but there hasn't been any updates for DNMP so I'm not sure it will be of any help especially considering that it was exactly seven days ago that I performed maintenance the first time to clear my cache so it looks like there is something else wrong with DNMP.

Deleting and re-downloading was the second thing I tried and no fix. Nintendo64 was the best system ever. Can't wait for the GoldenEye007 remake release on 11/2.

DOOM64, Duke Nukem64, Super Mario64, GoldenEye007, Hey You Pikachu, Super Smash Bro., Rush, Cruisin' USA, Banjo Kazooie, The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask, Mario Kart64, the list seriously keeps going on so far that I can't even remember all the games I had for it. I should go digging in the box I put them in.

Waiting for the patch to come, wishing I had working saves. Tried it, no luck. Ah well, I guess I'll have to wait it out.

My apologies. It seems as though with the various glitches and bugs that poor there there seem to be just as many fixes in some circumstance.

Has anyone tried removing the DLC from their system via that 360 debug mode thing? The system maintenance code that allows you to go into your 360 and remove patches and the like.

I have actually heard of people deleting their DLC but this is regardless because people with or without the DLC get this error. It's in the software programming and not whether or not someone actually has the DLC. I have the DLC and I never got the DLC pop-up. I got a different kind of 'corrupt' save problem.

I deleted the DLC (hell, the whole game, and all savefiles), then started from a "good" (ie. working) savegame. Still got the error.

PS: Loading the "good" savegame (which has 23 hours of gameplay with the DLC) obviously yielded a warning that DLC was missing, but the game still loaded and played. The error I'm talking about is the inability to load any savegames made after that point.

Also, I have tried loading a "good" savegame, and just replacing that single file, without using autosave or creating new saves. Still got the error.

I have a good save (loads with DLC) that I've taken up to the finale of "Come Fly With Me" and after I turn in everything for that it glitches, and all saves after that don't work. I even got to this good save from a prior good save that worked and can't get past it. I'm just waiting for a patch, I don't want to get svcked in and play for 2 hours doing other stuff before I realize I got glitched again.

Like others have said, it's happened to people with and without DLC, it's probably some check that's failing regardless

Only error I've gotten on this game is corrupted save file...and that is on my third runthrough. Not enough errors for me to want to return it.
