The graphics actually look a lot better if you get the high resolution patches from NMA.

i could not figure out how to install killaps patch and his restoration pack. i think it came with the high resolution patch
i downloaded it but did not know what to do from there. it said i had to install it into the fallout 2 exe. but i could not figure out how

Realllllllly! Heh I just ordered FO1 and 2 for "my son to play" wink wink nudge nudge.

I do think having played through both will add to the enjoyment of New Vegas.

i dont think you will be able to beat either one of them in time for new vegas. unless you look up a walk through.

the originals can seem impossible on you first playthrough.
you might be able to beat the first though

Hey guys, i have been thinking so many people adored the Fallout 3 game will Fallout: New Vegas have a complete different new story, just like Fallout 3 or will it relate to the Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 series? I already know that it does in some ways, but will it be major in the main story? As the creators have brought in some of the factions from the first two games. But my main point is, is that people who haven't played the first two (Fallout 1, Fallout 2) and possibly played Fallout 3 or even haven't played any Fallout games at all, will they still enjoy the storyline as if it was a complete different story and new game? (like Fallout 3)

I also know Obsidian have put in little Easter Eggs and things that do relate to the previous titles, but i just hope they haven't made anything from the previous Fallout games part of the main story in Fallout: New Vegas.

If you get my drift? ;)
What are your thoughts?

They've said that in a way it will be like a sequel to FO2, but it will deffinently have a very new, very deep story. They've also said that the game will be just as enjoyable to people who havent played the first two, or any of the Fallout games, though it will have things from the originals.

I've actually played and beat both a number of times. It's just been a while. I split time on the 360 with my son. I can load up the computer in the family room with FO1 and 2 and just trade off.

I played the 1+2 after 3 but didn't find much that I'd want to be referenced. So hope it won't be too heavy. Mentioning of things from FO3 on the other hand, would be cool.

Almost sure there will be a reference to:
- The Master
- Children of the Apocalypse
- Vault 13 perhaps
- Boneyard
- The Glow
- B.o.S.
- Mariposa Military Base
- The Hub
- Mentions of Shady Shands as a first step towards forming N.C.R and effects of rule of President Tandi
- Maybe New Reno ....
- Marcus will probably sometimes tell us "how he used to hang out with other dude who later turned out to be a hero of the wastes...and how they mowed like 2.500 Enclave Soldiers...and how Myron was annoying (too bad that he died a year after FO2 tho', because his "comeback" as an older genius scientist would feel quite fitting for area like New Vegas

They'd be remiss is you couldn't ask Marcus about the Master (and him be annoyed about everyone always dredging up ancient history).

(In theory, Marcus should have an opinion of every location he accompanied the Vault Dweller to, and NPC party member)
***If Marcus does not reference Myron they really WILL be remiss, because FO2 had special dialog from Marcus if Myron was in your party, and it can be assumed that Marcus knew that Myron created Jet (a problem that still plagues humanity decades later).
