The only answer to those is the same as the answer to any other "bullet sponge" opponent: whatever you can get your hands on that does the absolute most damage, and a lot of ammunition to pour into them. Aside from that, best help is to use VATS and shoot their weapon out of their hands to cut down how much damage they deal out while you wear them down.

I finally killed him but now I don't know where to go.I'm at the part where you get on the railing but I don't know where to get off.How do people do this without a guide.I have the GOTY edition with manual and I still don't know what to do.Am I having a continous senior moment or what? :swear:

Heheh...no, you're just on board an alien spacecraft. The path overall is quite linear, so when reaching an apparent dead-end the advisable course of action is a slow, methodical search of the area. Eventually you'll find some door you missed, side-path that goes around an obstacle, or combination of both: a side-path that gets you to an area with a control panel that opens a previously-locked door. They really seem to like that last one, finding the panel to disable a force field/doorway.

I find Mothership Zeta a lot more fun and Point Lookout left me wondering if I had missed a load of content, kinda felt a bit short changed, pleased I got in the GOTY bundle or I would have been a bit dissapointed with it.

For the shielded aliens it might be worth trying to use their guns against them (the pistol is better I find), use VATS and aim for head and when possible always attempt the sneak crit headshot in the VATS first shot. Pick out the shielded aliens in groups in case you get detected afterwards and lose your crit sneak bonus. It might mean sneaking around more but it works for me.

Those cloaks can take those Boss Aliens up to Max DR, Default is 85 unless a mod changes it, dependant on Player level.
No wonder those lil buggers are so hard to kill.

It is a spell effect on them, not their equipment.
