I recently decided to try Morrowind, and got the GOTY edition. However after installing Morrowind and trying to launch it with NO mods or expansions installed, I get this error.That's odd. I already am an administrator, is there anything specific I need to do or any other known causes of the error?


No, I mean actually run it as an admin. There's a difference. Go into the properties for your MW shortcut and go to comparability mode and check RUn as Administrator. Then run it and report back.

Ctually, do the above only if this works: right click > run as administrator.
