Alteration Armor

Post » Tue Nov 29, 2011 6:37 pm

it seems like the Alteration-Armor spells dont work correctly, i skilled it high enaught to give me 200 armor points, but i get nearly as much damage as before :(
it isnt just a feeling because i tested it already, with armor of alteration (200), 3 strikes of a (i think it was a draugh) gives me around 80 damage, without he gives me 90, thats way to small protection for skilling alteration so much (around 50) and *2,5 armor given.

do you guys have the same experience with it or is it just me?

Are you still wearing armour i.e. gauntlets or boots, because if you are the perks won't work

Was the bad guy using a mace? If so he might of had the mace ignore armour perks active.

Several people have complained about this. I might have to run some tests to see whether or not it's working

There is a tooltip bug. Let me explain.

Say for instance - stoneflesh gives a base of 60 armor. No matter what perks you have the tooltip in your spellbook AND under 'active effects' will keep saying 60, but you're actually getting more.

First check in your inventory screen that you actually have 0 armor to begin with (this is important)
Cast stoneflesh
Go to 'magic - active effects'. Mouseover stoneflesh, it'll say 60 armor. Most people assume at this point that the mage armor perk doesn't work.
Now head over to your inventory screen and mouse over anything you're wearing. You'll see your actual armor rating.
If you have mage armor 1, and you're using stoneflesh, you should see 120 armor.

All the same applies for different spell ranks / different ranks of mage armor.
