I really really hate dragons

Its not the combat

They arent too strong or too weak.

Its the fact that you cant be a pure melee and have any dragon souls. They dont land, they dont even hover low, they stay 50 feet in the air ignoring you half the time and then spotting a rabbit or something and run after that and leave you 40 arrows down wondering why the game hates you.

Who makes dragons a major portion of the game, and then demands that not only you carry around bows and collect arrows but you have to be able to hit the dragon enough times so that they dont get up and leave.

Random Dragons should land, period. :swear:

I haven't had that problem with dragons. I had one last night land in a dark village and ended up in an epic battle. I even went inside a tavern to save the game when it first showed up and when I went outside it was still there fighting the guards. It landed in the street and then flew about and then landed on top of a building. That was cool.

I laughed so hard when i found my first blood dragon, I was like all right, finally a different type of dragon, nope, it kept chasing bunnies and foxes, seriously, it never killed the bunny, I got the damn dragon to like 50% health b4 if finally stoped chasing the bunny and started attacking me lol

You need the shot Dragonrend. It makes them crash like a plane and ready for my Axe.

Really? For me they land constantly, I haven't faced a dragon which "didn't" land.

You're doing something wrong. I am pure melee. I am level ten and have 5 dragon shouts. They will land, you just have to draw them down somehow and make sure you're standing in a place with sufficient space for them to land. When they are hovering over you closely about to breath attack, do the force push shout at them, this will interrupt them and usually make them land.

Also, dragons know how to fight certain types of players.
If you're a melee type character then dragons will use that to it's own advantage and try to avoid going toe to toe. Unless it's an Elder or Acient dragon they just don't freaking care :/

Yea, i had this stupid dragon who was showing up as a red dot on my compass thing, and just flying around -.- at first i didnt even know there was a dragon; it didnt even make its presence known. And god knows i've shot dozens of fireballs at the bloody dragon a hundred miles in air to miss every single one, and the dragon continues flittng round like some darn butterfly on a nectar raid.

fly, land, crash into a cliffside and send up a shockwave of dirt, that uncovers a body to pillage. and then it got stuck and was ground so i had to try an d kill it while sliding down the cliff

Dont you just love killing a dragon in a town, only to have the nearest guard turn around the second it dies and say "a guard could get nervous when a man approach him with a weapon drawn"...

I had one taunt me for ages before flying away, it didn't matter what I shot at it, however it had just eaten. Another time one attacked everything in sight, me and my comapnions, a pack of wolves, some other travellers, a giant, it was carnage!

There's a dragon shout you get during the MQ that forces dragons to land

They do land. You must just be unlucky in your game so far.

Out of the 5 or so Dragons I've killed, they all landed without me shooting at them. Usually, when they're distracted it's because there's another threat they saw or reacted to first. Use it to your advantage.

The ones in my game land all the time. You just have to be in an area where they have enough room to do so.

I hate them too.

As I said in the other dragon thread, they're basically just better animated Cliffracers. And the fact that I'm trying to play almost exclusively as a melee character (no archery or magic - including shouts) makes them even more annoying than Cliffracers because I constantly have to wait for them to land before I can do anything. The fights aren't even challenging either. They fly around a bit, land, I run up to the side of them and start slashing away with my sword, they fly off again, then the process repeats until they're dead.

They always appear at the most annoying times too, like when I'm about to assassinate someone for a dark brotherhood quest. Every time I see one my enjoyment in the game plummets and it feels like i'm getting rid of an annoying interruption in order to continue what I was doing before.
