Companion gone missing

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 4:27 am

Hello all,
I have an annoying problem which i cant figure out for myself. Basically, i have not been able to find my companion ever since i turned into a werewolf in a dungoen. I have the first companion that you get so she should be at drangonsreach shouldn't she? This is very annoying as she had a lot of my stuff, not to mention how much damage she did. I hope someone can help me.

Do you have a house yet? If so, check there. I lost my companion once and found her sitting in my house.

This happened to me as well. I was fishing with my wood elf bro, Faendal, but when I swam out of the river he just disappeared. Later on when I went to Morthal to look for the vampire cure guy, I found him just standing there, he then proceded to attack me because I was a stage 4 vampire, lol. I guess if they aren't at your house, they probably wandered away somewhere.

It's happened to me a lot too; I'm starting to think that they're all either stuck in physics or there's some issue with their 'route' towards you. Generally, I just reload and be done with it.

I have a semi related question. My follower Lydia died when she was with me... Is this forever stuff? Or does she come back somehow? I'm sad. =____=

It's forever, it seems. Lydia died for me too... it may have something to do with the fact that I set her on fire and then hit her with my mace repeatedly, and she has yet to reappear.

I think most of the companions are 'disposable'; I killed one of the other Dragonreach companions by accident (why do people insist on walking into my spells and then directly into my weapon?) and Onmund died on me once, though I reloaded for that save since everything went pants up.

Hahaha! It does seem like they are disposable. Followers are easy to come by in this game... Unlike Fallout 3... where you only have so many options. I guess I won't get too bent outta shape about it, I mean... she needs to know her place anyways... BEHIND ME. Not taking my flailing hits at enemies and then bishing about it.

my buddy Faendal also dissapeared...was just walking around whiterun and the next minute he is nowhere to be seen. Tried waiting, fast traveling, still no Faendal. Tried to pick up lydia as a new follower, but she said I already had one...

:(

oh, also, don't have a house...so would be quite peculiar for him to be chilling there

Is there a definite answer to this? I've also lost Lydia, ans walked about 45 minutes hoping she would be at my house waiting, but no dice so far

They're probably stuck in something. It's happened to me, I had to quit game (on 360) and start it up again. Apparently invisible creatures infest Skyrim and grab your intrepid journeymen by the ankles, rooting them in place.

Not sure this is the same issue some of us are having.

I have waited in game for days, just waiting. Its also been almost two in game months since I "lost" my follower.
Thing is, I dismissed my follower a long time ago and have been unable to hire a new one because "I already have someone".

Using the console commands I found out that "playerfollowercount = 1.00" but I am unable to figure out who is supposed to be my follower.

Not only is this annoying me, as my wife can not travel with me, its also blocking me from any quests that requires anyone to follow or join me for any reason.

I really wish someone would come up with a solution, if there was a way to target or find the id of the NPC who is supposed to be your follower I could try to disable or kill them and see if that fixes the issue.
However I am still new to using the console and this would not help out anyone on the PS3 or the 360.

I already contacted a mod, but I am not sure they can do anything.
If I knew how to contact the devs directly I would.
I know at times the devs have posted here on this forum, it would be great if they would at least post that they are aware of this issue (and others) and are working on a solution to fix it.

Having my in game wife follow me was something I was looking froward to, but now I have a ghost follower and have been unable to hire another.

Faendal always disappears on me. I had to keep fast-traveling back to Riverwood to pick him up again. Very annoying.

I got Lydia now - she's always there for me. I want to marry her and make babies now.

Thats great that its working for you.
However for many of us we are having a issue with the followers. We appear to have a Ghost follower and are unable to hire anyone else.

I was thinking of just putting her to work for me. Hey, my girl's got to raise money somehow.

My wife, while she can not follow me, makes 100 gold a day.

The high elf companion that you can get at Riverwood vanished on me. He turned up back at Riverwood about a week or so later. Not sure if it is a bug or not but their level of patience does need be altered some.

They need to make it so that if you get so far away from them they will dismiss. and some way to dismiss them from the game menu.

Hey everyone!

Of course, I've got the same problem as nearly everyone else here:
Faendal disappeared eventually so that I can't dismiss him and I am also not able to employ a new accompanist.

Do you know some console commands that could assist me with this bug?
Maybe a command, that teleports me to my accomponist?
How does this command: "playerfollowercount = 1.00" work?
