No sound or sound delay - "fix" window mode

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 9:12 am

Fallout New Vegas:
Just figured out and guess read yesterday somewhere
that if you play new las vegas in WINDOW MODE then all works fine for the moment even in high settings.. :foodndrink:

When you start, go to options and choose option window mode in the left lower corner.

Had the problem as described here from the fist second on. that voices, dialogs, gun sound, etc. was not hearable or after pressing escape it all came,...
This problem with the sound ruined lots of my weekend.
Did upgrading , reinstalling of drivers, settings...but looks like its just a program error of New Vegas. :banghead:

I am playing on XP, 4GB, old AMD 3.2, 9800GT, etc.

Hopefully they do an acceptable patch on this game.
Shame on them, even since all was working fine on the similar looking Fallout 3.

(Sorry wrong forum. should be in New Vegas forum..)

This fixed it for me:

I was having audio problems/lag but making FalloutNV.exe run in "Windows 98/Windows ME" compatibilty mode helped me out (I'm on Win XP). Not sure what if any negative side effects that is may have but I can at least play the game with sound...

But this isn't about New Vegas. it's about Fallout III. and other sounds work fine its just the experiance gain sound that won't play.
