Worst guild quests of any TES Game?

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 9:34 pm

So i have just now finished the college of winterhold and become archmage... I have also completed the companions on a different character. So far, I am disgusted with how short they are. DISGUSTED. Literally what, 3 or 4 quests and I am the arch mage? Wtf is that? Theres not even any ranks? And dont forget the companions, 1 quest, boom, you find out the whole circle is werewolves. 2nd quest boom, they let you join the circle. A few more quests, boom, your done.

In the time it took to do every assosiate job in Oblivion, I could finish both the companions and the college of winterhold. I am actually scared to try the dark brotherhood now. If its gonna be 5 missions till I am the top of the heap, [censored] it. I could care less if the game can keep generating useless content for me. I felt like the game literally handed me arch mage and harbinger, I didnt need to work for it at all. I am only lvl 15, dont even have a skill over 65, yet i am archmage?

I can't remember a thing about Arena, Daggerfall was certainly way longer, Morrowind definatly, and Oblivion as well, even though I hated their mages guild. TES 5 Skyrim, the worst guild quests ever. I cannot believe how [censored] short they are. I could care less about any of the stupid random fetch quests from the npcs, the main guilds have always been the bread and butter of the game for me.

Is anyone else totally disappointed about the lack of content here?

Well...

1.) Yeah, the quest lines are rather short.
2.) However, what they lack is the "go there, kill them"-part.
3.) After you finished the normal quest line, there is an impossible amount of randomly generated quests delivering on exactly the content you crave for.
4.) Side-note: Arena didn't have any guild quests at all (correct me if I'm wrong).
5.) Sde-note: The reason the guild questlines were so long in Daggerfall was that you were forced to do randomly generated quests that lead you towards huge dungeon mazes.

All were bad in a way. Should have more optiones e.g

Wipe out thives guild, riften gets wealthier as a result.
Join silverhand and fight companions.
Join psyjic order and find out more about them, and whatever the eye was.

Last one may be dlc, but it was needed in the game.

They couldve done a better job on the winterhold quest I think

though I did enjoy the http://www.rarityguide.com/articles/articles/1006/1/Skyrim-Walkthrough-College-of-Winterhold---Under-Saarthal/Page1.html quest because of its puzzles

I didn't know how short it was and was planning on doing it in pieces but when i was about to stop the thalmor guy had already taken over the college with the eye and i had to finish it or it would make no sense if i just left at that point, so for purposes i'm saying that im not archmage and that later on i'l be contacted by them and they'll ask me to take over, but the quests were really uncreative too.

Companions was short compared to the Fighters guild but that was because the Fighters Guild forced you to do the filler quests before a main quest. In the Companions, you can main quest after main quest without bothering to do the filler quests. However, there is some unique side quests you can do for the Comapanions after you complete the main quest line that isn't filler .

Some sort of requirement to at least postpone being named arch-mage all in one go.
Perhaps after the main guild quest line a more senior wizard takes the arch-mages place.

Only he feels old and want to retire and will let you take his place, because youve shown so much promise, if only you do enough minor college guild quests.

That would be better, I think.
At least its something. As is you just get to the top of the guild way too quickly.

LOL if you didn't like the Companions or Mages guild questlines your seriously gonna despise the Dark Brotherhood questline.

It is possibly the most shortest stupidest and less assassin like guild you could come up with, oh wait it gets better, there's no

O _ o I guess to each his own... I found the DB questline to be by far the best of the bunch... Except for being short I seriously wonder what you hated so much about it when compared to the quests you got from Oblivion. If anything the assassinations are way more spectacular, meaningful, and you get a nifty story and events to boot... When compared to what you get in the companion quest line ...
