Taking suggestions for my new character

Hello, it's been almost six months since I last really delved deep into Morrowind, and I was looking for some ideas on what to do.

My new character is named Lucius Tarquin and from a backstory standpoint he is a Veteran Legionnaire who was at some point disgraced and thrown in prison, now he's in Morrowind making his fortune. I've reached Balmora, done the first couple Fighter's Guild quests, and I'm a skill up or two away from Level 2. I was hoping you guys could give me a few ideas on what to do next - the Telvanni Agent Fighter's Guild mission would probably be too difficult until I leveled up once or twice more, and I'm trying to hold off on joining the Imperial Legion again until I'm at least level 6-8.

I'd prefer suggestions be confined to areas around Seyda Neen and Balmora too.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Keep grinding and looting nearby caves and tombs. If you haven't already, complete misc. quests in Seyda Neen (the tax collector, the lighthouse quest, and the fargoth quests). There is an ebony mine called Vassir-Didanat Cave south from Balmora across the bridge from Shulk Egg Mine. It is rich with plenty of ebony to loot and sell, and there are no human NPCs inside you won't have to worry about getting caught stealing. Once getting a good amount of gold, level up using trainers at your local guild halls, then you should be able to level up enough to take on the more difficult fighters guild quests.

Caldera or one of the forts might make a more familiar home for your RP. Pelagiad even has quite a few caves, tombs, and beasties nearby.
