[RELz] Playable & NPC Creatures

shadeMe: I don't want to pester Scruggs any more than I already have. Particularly because I pestered him about getting SetPackageTarget for NPC Purchasing Power, and it turned out to not be enough. Plus for the 'change-anims-on-the-fly' project.
Heh, I was only half-kidding ;) In any case, there is a good chance that the function might get included in 0019, as (as far as I can tell) only a few more bits of location data need to be decoded.

So I thought I noticed that in the Flame Atronach video, you can see the Flame Atronach's body in first person- how does that work? I thought the game only renders the arms in first person? If you somehow managed to change this, would you be able to make something like that work with the regular player skeleton as well? I would love being able to see my own body while in first person.

Well, if I have a license to pester... :P. Thanks Scruggs.

That's just a matter of what the trishape is called in nifskope, it's all in the modelling tutorials.

ghastley: IIRC camera is for the position of the 3rd person camera, 1st person camera position is controlled by the 1st person skeleton.

You could actually keep adding brand new creatures and make them playable!

So all you have to do is modify the first person skeleton with Nifskope? I looked on the CS wiki, but couldn't find anything- and I assume that if it were that simple, somebody would already have done it.

No, the tristrips/trishapes in the clothing. This is why nobody's bothered; it's very dull, you'd have to edit every single clothing file and then all modded in clothing and armour, all to render a bunch of polys you will never see.
It's not intentional for the Flame Atronach to do it, I must not have checked the blocknames.
