Bitter Springs (or "I Forgot to Remember to make this qu

Like many others, my copy of Fallout: New Vegas has been buggy has hell. It's completely frozen at least a dozen times, but thankfully most were random and - after a hard reset - I was able to continue. I've actually managed to put over 60 hours into the game and have had runs of over 4 hours without freezes at times since the first patch was released. The little constant lags that happen every few seconds are still ever-present and - in my opinion - completely unacceptable in any recently-released video game.

Here's my real issue though: I did all of the side quests in Bitter Springs, then decided that it was time to take Boone there for his side quest "I forgot to remember to forget" (at least I think that's the name of the quest. That's when things finally failed completely. After staying the night, being awoken by Boone and told that there is a Legion raiding party on the way, the game freezes completely every single time I try to enter the town. It seems like the commotion and the NPC's on the screen (which aren't really that many considering some other next-gen titles I've played without problems) are first slowing the game to a crawl and then stopping it completely.

I've tried numerous times to pass the quest, tried entering the town from various different different directions, all with the same end result: Hard reset of my PS3. Once, I was actually able to kill three of the Legion raiders, but that's as far as it ever went.

I wanted to post this to see if anyone else has had this problem, maybe has a fix, and also just in some (probably vain) hope that Bethesda will take notice of yet another issue in what should have been one of the greatest games of all time and decide to fix it. Having been a huge fan of Bethesda games since the very first Elder Scrolls game (Arena), Fallout: New Vegas just breaks my heart and I simply can't believe that they released it in this condition, almost as if no one ever even bothered to test or play through the game prior to doing so.

Thanks for reading.

Boot in safe mode and pick restore file system it will clear corrupted data from your ps3's hard drive and may fix the problem.[restore file system only deletes corrupted data]
If you don't know how to boot in safe mode
Put this into yahoo or google
PS3, Safe Mode, Restore File System

I tried that safe mode stuff before, but you almost need to do it everytime you turn the system on and it only helps a little. The main areas that have freezeout and slowdown problems in Fallout NV seems to be mostly around the River..and all of them NCR camps...Camp Searchlight,Camp Bitter Springs,Camp Forlorn Hope,Camp Guardian,Camp Golf on occasion...and then there's Freeside, and The Strip, and Primm being the three worst away from the River. It's like they forgot to finish that strip of land from Searchlight to The Dam and it does make it really hard to finish Boone's quest,I myself attempted it 3 times before the game let me finish it.Once,my game froze with the tip of my Gobi Rifle jammed in a Legion minion's nose as i was firing in VATS,it was kinda funny. I gave up on it about a week & 1/2 ago..haven't touched my PS3 since. Started playing the original Fallout for laughs and because my poor PS3 needed a break from all that freezing.Guess we just..wait.....for...a patch...for...a...game..that...shoulda...worked...when...we........bought...it.<<(sorry,had a bit of slowdown) :brokencomputer:
