RP Recruitment

Post » Sun Sep 20, 2009 4:58 am

(I thought i'd make this thread for the benefit of the forum and myself)

It is a place where people can state that they are available to join or advertise themselves to join an available RP and it's also a place that RP's can advertise and recruit more players.

-----------------------------

I'm a dedicated good writer who is looking to join an active RP or co-start one. Since there are a few RP's going that are a fair few pages in, if you are still recruiting, or maybe you haven't even started yet, please either leave a message here or PM me.

(i do enjoy a good RP and i just saw today that this forum actually does them, good times!) :)

I think its a good idea. I had a similar idea a few weeks ago, where anyone that wants to get in on some RP's, that they post the character they want to use, but then I realized that would be stupid because people make their characters to fit with the specific RP they are joining.

I think this is a great idea!

I'm an average to good writer (who is obsessed with good grammar, punctuation and spelling), and I'm currently willing to join anything... Fallout Fan Fiction or otherwise!

Well I'm looking to restart my RP from yesterday, hopefully with less utter crap in it. I couldn't really direct the story yesterday, good now though :twirl:

I am obsessive with having correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. I love writing and when I do actually get on the forum the only place I'm in is the FanFic section, so I'm always happy to be in an RP. I always try and have long posts, although sometimes that is hard when someone just asks you a question and just expects an answer and reply to keep their own character going.

I agree with Francois Lachon about long posts, I always try to do long posts, as I, hate really short posts or one liners. But sometimes its nearly not possible to do a long post in some situations, like Francois said when your asked a simple question, and you can only really answer that question. Also when i'm posting, it takes a while to write a big post and to think of what you want the character to do, I check to see if anyone has posted since I started writing my post, and sometimes their post changes the scenario and makes your post meaningless and useless.

Like the other day, in an RP, my character was about to go to the mess hall and get ammo, while along the way interacting with other characters and a russian drinking coffee. But, when I was writing it, I reloaded the page to see if anyone had posted (so I could keeep up to date with the scenario if they had), and then in that moment the captain turned up and said "right everyone we're leaving NOW", so my big post was useless. By the time I would have posted it, the whole team would have been out in the snow rather than in the firing range and mess hall. And by then the only post I could write was that i had to grab my gear and run out.

It does disapoint me a bit when I see someone has replied and see its a short sentence. But I do understand sometimes you cant always write 5 paragraphs, But please try!

good times! :) i like people who do this. Or edit it just after, either way, you have to be up to date, and not just leave it if it's not right. If you're gonna do it, atleast do it properly ya know?

In a scenario like this i kinda write in the past tense. Saying what i had to say to whoever i had to say it, and then say something like "and after he had just finished his sentence, the captain burst in and said..." so you are basically writing what just happened just before, and then carry on in the same post "so i quickly grabbed my stuff and ran out with the others..." does work if you do it right. :)
